military and cheating

Id like to start out saying this is not me this is for my friend.

She found her husband sending text msges to girls asking for naked pics, she copyed all the msges can she use that against him. Does the military consider sexting cheating? Will he get in trouble.

I told her i think its just if she cathches him doing it.

No, they only consider physical cheating -cheating. And it really is at the commands discretion how the service member is charged. I've seen slaps on the wrist and full on OTH discharges for cheating.

Well obviously she's probably not going to be able to get a pic of him in the act. She should at least talk to someone and see what she can do. I'm sorry

Shes felt it was going on for a while she just didnt have proof   he treats her like a princess now i know why

Nope, physical evidence of the cheating. The Investigator or the spouse would have to catch it on camera or see them admitting to it in writing.

If I thought my hubby was heating, I wouldn't go to the command til I was sure it was physical cheating---wouldn't want him to lose his rank, etc if I thought we could work it out. But I'd make him go to counseling for sure

Yeah if my husband smurfed another girl, I'm not going to ruin his career over it. Essentially, that would be taking away from our children.

Right. Your whole family really does get punished when someone cheats in the military. If you turn the service member in you risk then not being able to provide as much as they used to for any of your children. Its a double edged sword. I see a lot of spouses just go the divorce route rather than turning them in so their childrens needs and wants are still met.

If that's the case, majority of soldiers would be in big trouble on a regular basis. I sent my husband smut all the time.
