I think you'll find that Alijah is only a spelling variation on Elijah, not an entirely new name.

Worries me about my sons name too.. it isn't misspelled... but it is different. His middle name is normal enough though.

ETA: My sons name is Shaydon. I haven't gotten bad comments on it.. just that people like it and never heard it before. Besides it's pronounced the way it's spelled... and according to babynology.com comes from Australia. When I decided on the name I didn't think there would be any others with the name cause I found out my baby was a boy then that night I dreampt about him and his name was Shaydon. It stuck.   But anyway.. it could also blend in with the boom of "aiden" names so he shouldn't have a problem I don't think.
