I can understand how you feel that "ALL" should be there, but I would beg to differ. I know a few Christians who are mean, jdugemental and demeaning and claim they are Christians. It's hurtful to the spirit.

seriously, majority of Christians and Catholics that i know are some of the most horrible people. they are all very close-minded and judgmental but then they look down on me just because i don't believe in their god.

  this. Your relationship with Jesus is very personal, just like that of you and a spouse or friend. Nobody can tell you you are wrong. But I agree te more you build that relationship with him te more you will want to please him.

It doesn't make you wishy-washy. Plus, true christians believe that verse in the bible that says something like: "I'd rather you be cold than luke warm" ....

 

I could never be a Christian. IMHO (and not trying to offend anyone by saying this), it's a load of bullsmurf. But, my best friend is a devout Christian. We never argue religion, and we respect each other's beliefs.

I have a cousin who I no longer speak to for many reasons, one being her ignorant and intolerant beliefs. She's a "born again," and although she would constantly tell me how she supported this and that that Christians usually don't, she told me that my aunt's father, who was like a grandfather to me, was going to hell because he never accepted Christ as his Savior. He was one of the best people I knew, and was the type of person who would go above and beyond to help anyone in any way that he could. From my understanding, god is the only true judge. After that and some other incidents, I seriously rethought our relationship and decided to cut ties with her.

That's what I believe a Christian to be about. But when you read the Bible, try to remember the time, place and mindset that the authors of the book were in. The traditions and practices of the time are different than ours are now. We do a lot of things now, that would make the authors of that time get upset. I believe a woman has the right to let her hair down, braid it, wear jewelry, wear pants, learn and preach. Yet, the Apostle Paul would tell me otherwise.

Thank you. I agree with you! SO was supportive of my religious choices, but it was hard on him because our family members would judge him for putting up with me and not forcing me to convert or leave me.

you can not get to Heaven by being " a good person" ... For God so LOVED (past tense) the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. God loved you enough that He was willing to LET Jesus come down (he was ready and willing) to die for you. You may not realize how that could help you, but if you want to know more let me know

You know, I remember reading just last week, the Apostle Paul said that a woman (or man) married to a believer is saved through their spouse's belief in God. I can't remember the exact words, but that was the gyst of it. So by his logic, you are saved through his belief in God, lol.

alot of the bible is symbolic, thats why Christ used parables quite often   True Christianty is about accepting the gift of ''salvation'' and having a personnal relationship w/God .....btw, all of the best ''christians'' are sinners ,lol. Thats why we needed a perfect ''sacrifes'' to cover our sins!
