I intend on writing one but i'm still waiting to take my classes before I can figure this stuff out. I was tempted to get a doula just so I wouldn't have to try to figure it out myself. Lol.. since it's my first baby and now with the problems that keep coming up I'm not sure how to draft one until I figure out if this placenta previa thing goes away or else it's c-section time..

I have a partial previa as well, and am dealing with the same thing. I think I'm going to write up a birth plan for if it moves, and a back up for if it doesn't.

And hi ladies! I don't get on gaga much, but do try to pop in here now and then

I'm glad to hear from you, I feel like I live here, lol..

But yeah I think your plan sounds like a good idea. My hospital is a baby-friendly hospital and they are doing skin to skin contact which is my biggest concern. I don't want an epidural so that's really my only specification if I do a vaginal birth. How about you ladies? Epidural or no?

No I'm not planning on writing a birthing plan. I'm a firm believer in writing it all down before it happens jinxes it. It's all in my head though and beings this is my 3rd I have realistic expectations this time around. Nope no swelling feet but I always keep them elevated. I didn't swell until 40 wks with my 1st, and 36 wks with my 2nd. This time around though, since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism seems to be one thing after another. I passed all 3 glucose sticks, but instead of taking an iron supplement once a day, they called yesterday to tell me to up it to 3xs a day. I knew I was anemic but jeeze! Also got a prescript. for Prilosec. I hate how it makes me feel all loopy and weird. Other than that and a recent bout of food poisoning from hell tht I'm still recovering from, everything is decent. Aaron moves nonstop, shakes the whole belly/bed, kicks hubby's back all night long   Baby bunnies are almost 2wks old now and last night opened their eyes. Soo adorable!!! Love watching them each day. And..... we got approved for a mortgage     we're doing the modular route with 5+ acres. We want horses and goats and stuff. We meet tomorrow with a guy who has 6+ acres to negotiate a lower price, and hopefully we can pick the modular out tomorrow too. Whoohoo! Onto the bad stuff... Tomorrow is also dd1s dr. appt to talk about whether she needs testing for epilepsy or some other seizure disorder. My mom had adolescent epilepsy that she outgrew at 18 and some types can be hereditary. We gave Kes a spoonful of ice cream the other night, she turned to walk the 2 ft to her room. Soon as her hand hit the doorknob she started crying and then we heard this loud "thud" and her door swung back open to show her lying flat as a board on her back, passed out. This is the 3rd ish time it's happened. MIL thinks its brain freeze *rolls eyes* everything I've researched says seizures. Hopefully we get some answers or a referral to a neurologist. prayers or good vibes sent this way would be appreciated for her. I'm so nervous for her. But otherwise, have a great week ladies!!!

Heather- I tried to get the maternity banded pants but it still isn't tight enough to round off my belly. I think it's my choice of clothing too. It's getting bigger each day so I think I just need to wait it out. During a breastfeeding class the other girl gave me the weirdest look when I told her my belly doesn't look as nicely rounded as everybody elses and I have belly envy. In fact her and her partner even moved to a different seat. I was like :O Am I that weird? Haha..

But to my cowgirl mama, I think the epidural is one of the harder things for me to figure out. If I am forced to do a c-section then I guess it's a no brainer, but if I can do a vaginal birth I really would rather not. I don't know what my pain tolerance is, but i'd rather deal with a lot of pain and just get it as quickly over as possible than a little bit of pain over a long stretch.

Have you tried a belly band? They're a little tighter than the bands on the maternity pants, I feel like it supports my belly somehow lol I love the way it feels on it, as weird as that sounds.
And.. I guess I haven't done much research on epidurals.. but do they actually slow the birthing process? I mean I know they numb you so obviously you can't tell how hard you're pushing, but I thought the epidural was strictly so you couldn't feel pain? I didn't know it actually kept the baby from coming out faster. After feeling those labor pains from my last pregnancy, I don't think I'd be able to handle a drug-free birth. I really don't care if it makes me sound selfish, I have a high pain tolerance and that was just too much for me. My mom said I looked like I was in another world when my contractions were hitting me.. she said I didn't even look like myself. I can't handle it, that pain is too much.

Oh don't listen to me on it taking longer. I just meant that's how I deal with pain. I've never labored before so I have no idea what it entails and it sounds so different across the board so I guess it's hard to say what is best for anyone. I do get paranoid that because you can't feel it push you either could tear yourself up down there, or not push hard enough (which was in my sister in law's case and ended up needing an emergency c-section) and in that case it might delay things. But it could also delay things if you are in so much pain you can't even push the baby out so who knows what way is best. I just don't want to risk the baby being not as alert and have trouble latching on with the breastfeeding and stuff, and I don't like the risk factors in case something goes wrong. I was joking with my husband and an old coworker about how things always go wrong during the full moon and it so happens that my due date is around that time. I'm just one paranoid mess!

Hahah, well your mind may change once you feel what it's like! I couldn't handle it.. it's like hell's fury is trying to claw it's way out of your vagina lmao.

On the topic of Epidurals, I got one with my first daughter and I was in labor for 18hours..12 of which were with NO epidural..I did get stadol in my IV and it was HEAVEN! The epi wore off when it came time to push and I was able to walk and everything afterwards. I have abosolutely NO pain tolerance so I will be doing the same this go around. I think its suppose to numb you but mine never did and it only help with the pain a little bit. Labor is painfull any way you look at it so its completely up to you. My daughter was fine and I didn't see any signs of her being "druged" as a result of the epi. I know the contractions were hell and I was gonna do anything I could to make them hurt less. lol

lmao.. well if thats the case, i'd have to work like heck to get it out then. I dunno, this may sound weird (I am pretty weird after all  ) but I think i'd rather just do it naturally and look like i'm in a lot of pain so I can make my husband feel terrible and baby the heck out of me and throw it in his face when needed. Not that I need to resort to such extremes, but it'll be a good reminder for him for times when he doesn't shape up. If he doesn't see me struggling so much he won't really give me the credit that i'll deserve you know?

I always appreciate the feedback from you guys. It's definitely a difficult decision. I'll just have to figure out if the previa will go away or not first and then i'll just have to make the call and stick with it. Fingers crossed!
