idk what to think with him

Heard from dh last night, he decided after six days of rehab he didn't want to do it anymore hed rather be on suboxone. Idk what to think i as proud of him for being in treatment but now i feel like hes trying to find another substance to use in place of heroin.

Ya but Suboxone is not like Methadone. Methadone messes you up AND blocks out heroin. Suboxone only blocks out the heroin. So if he were to pick one, Suboxone is the best in the fact that he won't get messed up.

I feel like he shouldn't have backed out of rehab, hes been on suboxone before and he did nothing but abuse it

I would think he simply just isn't serious about getting clean to be honest. You can get that stuff in rehab as part of the treatment. But unless he deals with his addiction itself he is never going to be clean.

Kudos to him making it 6 days.
But, if he's unwilling to stay in the program, I would be done.
I dated an addict for a while, and kept helping him come down and go through his self detox. It was scary, can't lie. I couldn't take it anymore and told him that he had to successfully complete a rehab program if he wanted to keep me.
And here I am, now married to a Marine. No idea what the addict is up to.

I have a friend who suffers through addiction issues, in which I had to basically do the same with her. Thankfully she made the correct choice in the matter. But she would do the same half assed getting clean smurf for years.

He said he left the program because they didn't do one on one counseling and hes going to see a shrink three days a week and take suboxone daily. I feel like hes not serious. He also said he doesn't want to be with me until hes not screwed up in the head.
