Should I be concerned?

I have a beautiful 3 month old ebf baby boy. Uncomplicated pregnancy and labour, and he was 21.25" and 8lbs 15oz. I'm forever getting remarks on how big he is now, and people think he's more like a 6/7 month old because of his size. My grandmother in law constantly nags me about how big he is, telling me i need to expand the time in between feedings, and my mother gasps every time she hears about how big he's gotten. He's waaaay bigger than his cousin(she's three months older), and catching up to a friends one year old in size. He's sitting at 19ish lbs, and he's 26" long... He feeds quite well, and sleeps up to 10 or 11 hours a night... Should i be concerned about how big he is? I read about a mother that was concerned about her 3m/o being too big at 13lbs

No, 13 pounds for a 3 month old is not unheard of. Don't listen to your family. Feed him whenever he is hungry.

If the doctor isn't worried then you shouldn't be. Yes 19lbs is big for a 3 month old but unless they have a medical condition there isnt much you can do. Just keep feeding on demand some babies are big.

Don't worry about it at all. Just like there are tiny babies, there are bigger babies. DS Has stayed on the big side consistently in the 90+ percentile since he's been born. Even remarks on how big he is. When we went out to dinner for my birthday, DS was 6 months old, everyone thought we were celebrating his 1 year. Keep feeding your baby when he is hungry. Chubby babies are cute

And as long as your pedi doesn't say anything about it, you really shouldn't worry.

Not always and some babies and just smaller than others.
It's not something to worry about unless your doctor is worried.

My 2-month-old combi-fed baby is 13lbs.. lol I'm sure she'll be a lot bigger when she's 3 months! Honestly don't worry, he's just a big boy and like the other poster said, you pretty much can't overfeed a demand-fed EBF baby.

My daughter has always been bigger than kids her age. We went to visit my friend in the hospital after she had a baby and the nurse came in and said, "your baby is cute. Is she about 6 months?"
I said, "No, she's 6 weeks."

I wouldn't be concerned, no.
He's healthy! Just a chunk!

Who cares what people think.
Unless the doctor say he's not OK, then he's fine!!!

It's good for babies to be a little big! If they get sick it's not too drastic on their health because they don't drop to dangerous weights. He'll walk it off when he gets mobile

My son has always been bigger than average and he doesn't over eat. It's just the way he is! I wouldn't try to change him

My one year old is 24 lbs and 31 inches. We went to Olive Garden for lunch whn she was about 7 mnths, and they gave us a kids menu and crayons. Now that she is mobile, she walks it off. Her legs aren't as chubby, and she thinned out.

My 4 month old girl is big and healthy   I would be concerned if they didnt want to feed and lost weight! You should be proud of your big healthy baby! As soon as they become mobile, they loose the excess weight. Its called "puppy fat" for a reason

I'm totally proud that he is so healthy!! He doesn't over eat either, he actually only eats every 3-4 hours, and that's on his own schedule!   I was just wondering if i should be worried about him gaining this rapidly, just cause of the way people talk about his size... I have to take him for another doc appointment soon, so I'll see what he thinks of my son when we go again. He saw him about a month ago and couldn't believe he was 13lb at 2 months

Thanks for the reassurance ladies!
