group b strep positive

They just told me I'm gbs + I'm scared shirtless. Is there anyone whose had and if so how was your turn out? I'm 32 weeks pregnant.

Dont worry its very normal and common. I had it with my second. U just need an iv of antibiotics during labor

I know this may sound like a stupid question but what is group B strep? Im 29 weeks havent been told anything about it and a ftm

32 weeks is pretty early fot them to be testing you. It could go away or not. You will need antibiotics during labor but thats about it. Its really only a huge deal if you arent treated during labor.

I've had it both my pregnancies.they just put antibiotics in my iv before my csection.no worries.

Don't be scared! I think about 50% of ladies have this during pregnancy.
You will end up getting a simple iv antibiotic, and you're good to go. I had this w my first pregnancy only, and it was no big deal.
The antibiotic feels nasty in your veins though- a burning sensation. But it doesn't last too long.

Its basically a bacteria that is found in your vagina/rectum. You usually get tested for it at 34 weeks

I guess reading all of the crap on Google made it worse LOL.. stupid Google..

Jenny I was in the hospital and they found it in my urine. I hope it goes away. They gave me ampicillin and told me. I would need antibiotics during labor as well. This pregnancy has been a rollercoaster : (

Yes dont google, it will freak you out lol
Really it just means you need to get to hospital as soon as your water breaks so there is enough time to get the antibiotics through you
