Please don't pee in my bed!

posted 2nd Dec
Well Alyssa fell asleep without a pull up on. Now the question is do I try to put one on her and risk waking her up, or do I let her sleep and risk waking up in a puddle?

She fights me every night to keep her undies on and not put on a pull up. I want to let her try to stay dry through the night but haven't yet because I need to buy a waterproof sheet first, and I have a king size bed so they are expensive. Should I just try and see what happens? Usually if she wakes up after even sleeping 30 minutes she'll be up for hours and I really don't wanna deal with that tonight, I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and exhausted!

Does she move a lot in her sleep? If she doesn't then maybe you could slide a towel under her bottom and a garbage bag between the towel and the bed for a little extra layer protection.

I'd put a towel under her, maybe a few. And to get her nighttime PTd, stop all liquids 3hrs before bedtime. She can have ice chips or a sip or two of water. Wake her an hour after she falls asleep and have her potty, put her back to bed. Eventually she'll be dry all night and not need to be woke up, at all. As she gets older, make the liquid time later and later. It's part of the 3 day potty trai ing book, worked for my daughter!

If she wakes up for any reason even 30min to an hour after falling asleep she'll fight me to go back to sleep and ends up being up til 2-3am :/ I've been trying to cut back on drinks at night/bedtime but she's like me and has to constantly have something to drink at all times

If she's not ready then cutting out drinks is just cruel. I hate that suggestion, a kid that is truly ready will be able to get up after drinking a regular amount of water
