Looking for a safe car seat

posted 2nd Dec
my son is getting older and his graco snugride 35....is getting a little too snug..even tho hes only 21 pounds or so. Is there a site that could tell me the safest carseats, or where i can compare different ones. Suggestions welcome! thanks!

depends on your price range. most on here will say get a britex...but I see a lot of recalls of them. $200 and up. I did see a sale at target for 100.
I like graco. we have the myride 65. RF to 40 pounds, fw harness to 65 and they are coming out with a myride 70. seat runs any where from 100-160.

we have th emy ride 65 because it got such great ratings and such, they now have a my ride 70 or 75 or 80, I cant remember, but its a GREAT carseat and has lot sof protection on the sides and stuff which is what I love! Its also got a great arch, its not too much where its hard for them to sit up, but its enough so if they fall askeep they arent slumped against the seat belt. Its awesome, we love it!

oh and the myride has a slight incline when you do turn it to FF. so their head doesn't flop all around.

This is what I have. It's a bit bulky, but DS is comfy and it's safe

I hate the latch one it, so I just use the belt. Don't have any issues, and DS has used it in my Alero, and now in my new Mazda5, which has a captains chair

I found that it was, but we didnt keep it rear facing for long. If you're like me and you get into the carseat and put all your weight while you're doing the straps, its not going anywhere lol
My son was super tall though and was switched to the front facing position because he just had no room, and it was still super safe!

my LO is 26 months and still RFing in the myride 65, and it's super sturdy, when i install it with the latch or with the seat belt i always put all of my body weight onto the car seat while tightening it so it's nice and sturdy and not moving anywhere lol

My 37lb, 42inch 3.5 year old is still RF (with room to go) and is very very secure in his Diono. No give, super easy installation (takes seconds)...when flying, etc, it collapses for easy carrying and fits SOOOO easily in airline seats (it's one of the narrowest seats on the market).

The Radian is more expensive, but it is the ONLY seat your kid will ever need. Newbie all the way to 45RF, 80FF with a 5pt harness, then 120lbs as a high back booster with the seatbelt.

I drive an older mini van and I have NO teather or latch. I use the seat belt only and let me tell you this seat is NOT going anywhere. it's in there tight.
