milk supply low?
posted 2nd Dec
Hello ladies
So my little booby man will be 3 months old on the 4th and has been breastfeeding like a champ. For the last week or so though it seems like im always empty on one side. I can barely express any and it never feels full no matter how long its been since he nursed. The other side I always have a pretty intense let-down but this i almost cant tell. Im not leaking from that at side at all. Since I noticed about a week ago Ive been trying to nurse him more on that side but it doesnt seem to be helping and he just gets pissed off until i put him on the other breast.. i have to get a new pump and I plan to start pumping that side to help but otherwise what else can I do? Will I possibly have to start supplemental feedings?

What you are describing is normal. After your milk supply is well established you quit leaking and wont feel "full". Most kids will develop a breast preference. Just have to not give in and keep making hum take both breasts. If you see swallowing and hear it then he's getting milk. Do not give up. If you're afraid your supply is truly low, try taking Fenugreek and nursing him on the breast that feels less full.

Thank you! I was worried. I breastfed my second for 10 months and never stopped leaking but we had a stressfull schedule for a long time. Im going to stick with and since he sees his pedi on tuesday we can check his weight. Thank you! I feel relieved
