No debt, so we are going on a vacation. probably fiji or bora bora. my dads neighbors just went and we fell in love with their pics. too bad the groupon deal ends soon >.<

We are doing try number 2 for a used car. We bought a used mini van last year for $1300. Holy hell you get what you pay for haha. Worthless piece of smurf.
This year we are going out to rochester to find one because our stupid little town sells used cars over priced because we are right next to a base and they think soldiers will pay those prices. Maybe they will but they lost my business. Can't wait. We are shooting for a chevy cobalt this year.

idk how dealersips out there work but the dealership i work at has a 72 hour cool off period where you have 72 hours from the day your purchased the car to return it for any reason. in those 72 hours i definately reccommend taking the car to a personal mechanic (someone that you definately trust n know they wont just pick and pull your car apart for a pretty penny) to make sure there isnt any issues with the car. dealerships only do so much testing before they sell a car. they only test out the safety features on the car.

That sounds fantastic. I bought my van from a private seller as is so I was screwed and want to go to a used car dealer this coming tax season but obviously a sucker is born every day and some dealerships know that and may not be any different. I still have the fear of getting ripped off (but for like $6000 more come spring) so this is really helpful! I will look into this!!

y not put that 6k down on a new or a more expensive used car that way you have a more reliable car. if you go new you definately dont have to worry about any issues!! before i bought my new car back in march i had a non-reliable car as well. the feeling of owning a new vehicle is a much more stress free world for you! lol you know you can drive across the world and not have any issues with it, where as a used car theres always that what if....

SOs credit score isn't that great yet though he is now debt free and I have like...$21000 in unpaid medical bills so I can only imagine what mine would be. I know some places will finance you with bad credit but doesn't that mean your payment will be higher? Idk how all that works.

I will be paying down on some of my student loans. I don't think I've ever done anything "fun" with my tax return check. I always pay off bills. Maybe I'll buy a few baby items. Hopefully I get that chance.

definately try to see what kind of interest rate they can get you. the lower the better, obviously. but you can try to finance through another bank/credit union of your own choice. get pre-approved for so much with a certain interest rate(apr) and then you can go to any dealership you want and get the car you want with what you were pre-approved for.
