Maybe people were made fun when he was in school (or maybe he made fun of others?). I don't know what the circumcision rate is where you live, but it's about 30% around here (so 70% are NOT circumcised). I don't think anyone will be made fun of here, though in the future, if this trend continues, then it may be the boys that are circumcised that are made fun of.

Can you ask your doctor if he knows the local rates? If it is about 50% of baby boys then that might make your husband feel better.

....hmm, I just did an internet search and according to Wikipedia, in 2008, 73% of males were circumcised, I'm sure you'll want to find something more reliable though  . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prevalence_of_circumcision

Oh, and my husband wanted to get it done, until our midwives brought it up and told him that it is no longer covered by our provincial health care plan, so we'd have to pay for it (and it is just a cosmetic procedure). I'm not sure if he felt strongly about it before then, we had only briefly talked about it, he knew I was against it for our children.

I think the reason of him being cut because DH is, is just as ridiculous as the "he'll be made fun of in the locker room" excuse.

some kids do look!!! all im saying is most people do it because their DH is! if thats not ur belief then so be it! convince him otherwise good luck!

That ought to be useful, especially the article The Vulnerability of Men by Vincent Bach. It's so weird how circumcised men are so bent on having the same thing done to their sons, for no real reason at all.
