Quoting B♥Z:" I'll start off by saying DH isn't always this much of an ass, he feels strongly on this topic, as do ... [snip!] ... Last night he even went as far as to say that he'd divorce me if I didn't have our son circumcised. It's getting ridiculous!"
Maybe people were made fun when he was in school (or maybe he made fun of others?). I don't know what the circumcision rate is where you live, but it's about 30% around here (so 70% are NOT circumcised). I don't think anyone will be made fun of here, though in the future, if this trend continues, then it may be the boys that are circumcised that are made fun of.
Can you ask your doctor if he knows the local rates? If it is about 50% of baby boys then that might make your husband feel better.
....hmm, I just did an internet search and according to Wikipedia, in 2008, 73% of males were circumcised, I'm sure you'll want to find something more reliable though
Oh, and my husband wanted to get it done, until our midwives brought it up and told him that it is no longer covered by our provincial health care plan, so we'd have to pay for it (and it is just a cosmetic procedure). I'm not sure if he felt strongly about it before then, we had only briefly talked about it, he knew I was against it for our children.
