10 Month old and regular milk

posted 2nd Dec
Ok so my 10 month old who literally turned 10 months today ran out of formula and neither me or my husband have the money to get him more formula until Thursday at the earliest. We gave him regular vitamin D milk and he's drinking it fine.

My question is this will it be a problem when we do buy the formula and give it to him? What are your thoughts? Also no we can't borrow money for the formula as no one we know has the money either. I know 12 months is the recommended age and i don't want to keep him on it, just until we get the money for his formula.

Whole milk does not have all the nutrition he still needs.

Smurf like this annoys the living hell out of me.

You have internet, obviously, but can't afford formula for your kid? Priorities chick. Get some.

I would sell something and do anything to get my kid formula. Cows milk doesn't have the nutrition your kid needs for healthy development.

You're supposed to start them around 12 months ( I was told to still feed her the formula up to 13 months). You're supposed to start it off slowly by mixing mostly formula with some milk, then slowly working up to just milk. You dont want to hurt his belly. If i was in that situation, I would stick with giving him regular food/ baby food until you can get the formula. If it's going to take awhile to afford it, look up some organizations in your area or apply for WIC. I know that it sucks that it's so expensive =( believe me.

He should be fine until Thursday unless you notice a major change in bm or a rash etc. Do you have a food bank where you live? They will give you formula also contacting a church is a great idea. Whole milk might be rough on his tummy.

At ten months your baby still needs formula. You should pawn something and buy your baby formula.

Well sometimes you can't predict financial problems, y'know? Internet has nothing to do with it, but i get where you're coming from.. I've been dead broke, but my child has never gone without =-/

I started my son on whole milk at 10 months because he would not drink the formula anymore. I asked his doctor at the time and he said it was fine. Just don't give him 2%. until he was a least 2. He still did not drink the whole milk very well just a couple of 4 oz sippy cups a day. He was off the bottle by 8 months his choice. He is 10 now. and still does not like milk not less it is in cereal.

The internet has lots to do with it. I see these people with fancy smart phones, internet, all this new smurf, but can't afford to feed their kids? There's no excuse for that at all.

I hope your kid doesn't have any problems, but at that age lots of kids can't digest cow's milk. I've known several people who ended up with their baby in the hospital because they gave the child milk at that age. It's important that you get that kid some formula before Thursday, that's DAYS away.

I'd try going to a food bank. Or sell stuff. If you have videogmes or something, u can trade them in for cash...or like another mom said..pawn something.
