re: 10 Month old and regular milk

posted 4th Dec
The WIC checks aren't good until the 10th which is Monday which is actually after both me and my husband get paid. I was able to pawn something and get a small can of formula that I am praying will last. I am happy to say however instead of constipation the whole milk actually seemed to help his bowels. He would only poop once a week on formula and with whole milk he was pooping atleast once a day sometimes twice.

WIC doesn't give out formula I tried once before and they told me it was up to me to make it last and or provide any extra milk my child needed. I was able to buy it thankfully. If it ever happens again which I doubt as he will be one in February and then on whole milk anyway I will know a little more thanks to you ladies!!! Atleast the ones who were nice and didn't throw me under the bus.

I didn't let the ones who were mean get to me I just didn't understand how someone could judge so quickly. I love my kids and I bust my ass to make sure they have everything they need ALL the time even if that means putting my pride and dignity aside at times. I do what needs to be done for them because that's what mothers do.

To the lady who's husband is getting laid off I am sorry it's very rough. When I was pregnant last year my husbands contract was ending and we didn't know what was going to happen. We got blessed when he found his current job right before his job ended and this job is a million times better than the last. When we had our son in February they gave him 4 weeks (The month of February) off to be home with me and our family to help and just bond with our baby and it was paid. They are amazing people and I pray your husband and his co workers find amazing jobs very soon!!

Thank you, My DH works for the union so I know that he will find another job. It just sucked that it happened now. lol I am glad that you got some formula for you baby. Do you use Gerber good start by any chance? I have gotten like 10 free cans in the mail the big cans and lots of coupons. I can send you some of the coupons if you send me your address. Sometimes we all need help not someone bashing you down. You can e-mail me your address @chrissiedunn@mail.com or add me on Facebook under the same name. The coupon that I have is for $10.95 off any size can. I know that you will get your wic soon but I would still like to send it to you. Thanks, I also have some similar coupons for $5.00

When I ran out of the 7 cans of formula that WIC gives one month and didn't have enough money to get formula, I posted an add on craigslist. You'd be surprised how many people have left over unopened cans of formula they are willing to give away. One woman even called and said she had a can left, but when I got there to pick it up it she pulled the biggest one you can possible buy of the brand I needed out of a bag from walmart and I saw the receipt in there so she had obviously seen my ad and went out and bought it. Some people are willing to help. Also look on craigslist when you do have extra money, people sell it cheap and you can stock up. People of Progress also have formula they will give you for free

He drinks Similac sensitive for fussiness and gas it's the orange can. I'm glad to hear your husband shouldn't be out of a job too long. It is so tough out here to get a job now.

My son's birthday is February 2nd, Groundhogs day lol. Only two days apart. I met a couple around my area who had a baby boy on February 1st.

I never thought to post an ad on craigslist honestly. I look on there from time to time to buy formula but they always seem to be so far from me that it would cost me more to get to them than they are selling the can for and for the total cost I could buy the can at the store. I will keep posting an ad on craigslist in mind if this ever happens again in the next month and a half which I pray it doesn't and it shouldn't.
