re: 10 Month old and regular milk

posted 2nd Dec
I want to say that I'm on my cell phone which i have to have on because it's the only phone we have. We haven't paid our cable/ internet bill either because we don't have the money. We paid rent and that kinda screwed us. My husband sustained a severe concussion and was out of work for over a month so money got tight. I just went back to work this past week.

I'm not trying to keep him on whole milk because i know he needs formula i just ran out and don't have the money. I can honestly say i didn't think about pawning something. Thank you for the idea. My two sons have always been #1 priority. I haven't had my eye brows or feet done in months because of what they wanted or needed. Things happen sometimes that can't be predicted. We are on WIC they only give 7 cans a month and that's not enough for him because he eats so much. I usually buy two big cans myself and that lasts but even that ran out. I will feed him as much baby food as possible and find something to pawn.

I do wish that everyone wasn't so quick to judge however, things do happen. We do the best we can and this is the first time this has ever happened with either boys and my oldest is 6. I really just wanted to know if it would cause him problems with his bowels or something until we could get the formula. Also the churches around here don't have formula, i have yet to find one in my area organizations included that have formula or have his formula.

You should try for a walmart or target card and only buy formula so you can pay it off when you get money.

when i started giving my son whole milk at 12 months..he got sooo badly constipated it was scary. i have to mix milk with toddler formula for him to be able to poop. Make sure your son gets lots of fruit.
Doctors offices usually have free samples of formula.

Well i don't have a smart phone or anything fancy. We live in a smurffy two bedroom apt that can barely fit us three and again we haven't paid the internet bill. I have a cricket phone which is one of the cheapest plans around. We don't have a car and we only have necessities.

I can't open a credit card with anyone because of my credit, however i will take the advice and pawn something. It just didn't cross my mind. We started our oldest on cow milk about this time with no issues an however again I'm not trying to keep him on it just didn't know what else to do for my baby.

Thank you to the people who weren't judgmental and to the person who suggested pawning something thank you because i didn't think about it. I will do it in the morning and get him some formula. I don't want my baby to get constipated or anything, my boys are my life.

Sorry everyone one is being so judgmental. It sucks that people don't understand how someone else can struggle from time to time. Yes he needs the formula but a least you are giving him something. There are so many parents out there the don't take care of the babes at all. Don't let anyone else bring you down because you are asking for advice. I am due next week and we just found out today that my husband is the 3rd person to be layer off of his job. The bad thing is all 3 of the guys have babes due in the next 2 weeks.

No cows milk until age one. Their vitamins won't come from cows milk.

I would contact the WIC office and ask them for samples or something. I've done that before.

I say its fine. lo is 10 months tomorrow been on whole milk for a month now. (noy completely ) she still drinks 50oz of formula a day too. But gets 2 cups of whole milk a day.

Here we introduce whole milk at 9 months of age. And have for many many many years. lol

As long as lo is getting iron enriched foods to eat in the day time, it should be fine, but to not completely eliminate formula or bm till 12 months of age. kwim?
Although Mine will be off of formula by 11ish months, its not really recommended. but my pedi ok it for us. lo since lo eats well.
