trouble ttc'ing later?

Has anyone who has had an abortion, had problems when TTCing later in life?

I had an abortion January 2010. SO and I started TTCing August 2011, and were unsuccessful for 14 months.

Just wondering if I just suck (LOL) or if anyone else had a problem when it came to TTCing after an abortion.

I had 2 abortions and never had a problem getting pregnant right away, when I was ready.

well, idk if this counts bc i wasn't actually TRYING to conceive, but... i had an abortion in 2010 and i had no problem getting pregnant 2 years later, being that it happened accidentally. i would say it just differs from person to person. and the problems with conceiving could be unrelated to the abortion. but good luck or baby dust or whatever to you! hope things work out!

Haha thanks   I just have this huge fear that it's related to that. It's one of those things I regret, but ya know..what can you do now?

I doubt its caused by the abortion, maybe see a Dr and see why you are taking so long to conceive.

Nope! I've had 2 abortions. One early and one late-term and I've gone on to have 3 other healthy children! :-)

This makes me feel a bit better about it. Just have this fear that because I wasn't ready for two babies at that point in my life, that I'll never get to have that chance again, ya know?

idk what the time frame is for when you go to the doctor for having trouble conceiving, but if you do go, maybe mention it to them and see if they think it could have had an effect. i told them about it when i did get pregnant because i was worried it might cause complications in the pregnancy. i don't think it will, but i just wanted them to know just in case.

I had an abortion in 2004. it's been almost 9 years since the abortion but we aren't TTCing, just not using protection..I've been using OPK's for 6 months and we BD the night I get a surge and so far no baby..but we've only been able to have sex 2-3 times a month because we live 45 minutes away...so it's just us and we suck!! lol I bought a women's fertility test last week and took it on CD 3 to see if my egg quality and quantity are good, and they are!! keep your head up and don't stress..if it happens, it happens!!

They know. They ask about the number of pregnancies and things like that. So I had to tell them. The last time I was at the doctors, it was June. I was only 10 months into TTCing. He told me after a year, I could go back in. Well the year was in August, and I knew in September I was getting laid off work. So, we decided to just wait until I was back to work and all that jazz. Now I'm just getting back to work. So I was thinking about going back to the doctor maybe in January and talking about it.

Just makes me nervous, ya know?

I've heard that it can cause scar tissue if they scrap you. I don't know much about abortion but when I was having my Colposcopy and issues TTC'ing after they took samples of my cervix I kept reading that the procedures done for HPV testing and abortions can cause scar tissue that make conceiving in the future impossible.

does insurance cover dye tests? where they shoot your hoo-ha full of dye to see if everything is open?

That, I honestly have no clue. I'll have to check what they cover. LOL'

though honestly, that doesn't sound pleasant.
