Thats what quite a few people I know are doing. They ask me what I want to name the baby, then say "I don't like that, you should name them (insert name here)"...I wouldn't ever say that to someone. I guess if I didn't like the name they chose I'd just bite my tongue and say "Thats different" or something other than "I don't like it" or "ew."
It's bothersome, maybe more so because I'm pregnant and hormonal...

Im naming my daughter Aubrey June. June is after my late nana (her mother) and she still doesnt like the name. She wants me to name her something 'normal' like Elizabeth. Blah.

My mom hated the name I picked out. I still like it but my mom was really nasty about it. You could say it was a "made up name" but I still think it's cute either way. (Jayliana). It's a cultural name and isn't in name books or anything that I have seen, but I know of a few Jaylianas. I'd use Jayli as a nickname. My mom said she would call her Jumbalaya. Lol. Sooooooooooo after all the day by day harrassment from her, we decided with Arianna. Baby Arianna Lee will be here March 12th.

Yeah I would agree. Aubrey is a boy name.

Aubrey is a boys name. That's why she doesn't like it.

You don't have to go with something boring like elizabeth, but you should at least keep it in the right gender.

That made no sense lol. Cultural as in it was a Puerto Rican name. Puerto Ricans have different names. My mom is white and doesn't understand the culture. I've been around PRs since I was little so I know all about it.

BOYS:

I don't know too many of the boys names...don't like em much.

Some may sound weird to you but they are all super popular in Puerto Rico and here in Boston.

Also to add I do agree some of those names are pretty terrible...although I do like my neices names Indialis and Jaylis...I also like Jessenia.

My mom liked my first choice better than Carson, but she prefers Cameron overall (No idea where that name even came from cause it was NEVER in my list of choices). But she's getting over it cause she knows it's not her decision. SO's mom on the other hand, won't leave me alone. I don't know if she's just teasing me or what, but she keeps saying "We already have a Carson in the family, name him this, name him that." Not really my problem that she has a nephew (who got adopted out I might add, so she doesn't even see him) named Carson. Carson is so right for my baby, and that's what it's going to be, no matter what ANYONE says. SO's family wants him to be called Chance
