Exactly. I live nothing like that part of my family, but when they get into trouble everyone feels the need to inform me about it. We've been trying to get my niece out of foster care since none of them are able to, but even the case worker puts off my background check because she assumes I'm just like them.

I haven't talked to my "mom" or half brother in over 10 years but people still ask me about them when they see their names in the paper. "Oh your brother got arrested for blah blah" ...oh really? ok. I don't care lol.

yep! Same here. Luckily a lot of people dont know who my mom and step dad are because we h ave completely different last names even my maiden name is different then my moms. So only those who really know me have been the ones to say something but still its like. NOW you see why they arent in my life? lol

Well sounds like you are doing better without having them in your life!

I made its own topic for this but thought I would ask you ladies as well:

The legal parenting plan with my ex-husband was set up when my daughter was an infant. It allows him to see her 4 hours a week since that is what he wanted and she was still nursing. Later he requested to have her every other weekend. This seemed reasonable and normal so I consented. He also wanted to have her every other Monday evening. I said this was fine as well. I hated Monday evenings as it didn't work out well with schedules and he only has her for 2 hours if that (that includes drive time). When he requested to cancel it last September due to a suspended license I was like "hell yes!" Well, now he wants to start them back up again.....I am not very eager about this but said okay. Now I am second guessing this decision because schedules with work and etc. have gotten even more crazy since the fall and I am not sure how I can make this work. I am half tempted to tell him no. He doesn't pay his child support so I have also thought of mentioning that if he starts paying his child support I would be happy to start Mondays again (as a compromise). What would you do? And if you would say no how would you approach it? Keeping in mind that while we don't get a long/like each other we have a very civil parenting relationship and I hate to make a huge bump in that but also feel at some point I need to put my foot down.

Using child support as leverage for visitation could easily come back and bite you in the ass. The two are not legally connected, child support is paying to raise the child, not paying to see the child.

That said, tell him all you are OBLIGATED to do legally, is the 4 hours a week, since that is the legal custody agreement. You have been more than accomodating through this, but you are not legally obligated to keep doing it.

If i could find a way to make it work i would allow it or maybe a differant day could work better. I would never want to tell my childs father than he couldnt see his kid. If he is a good father which he must be cause you allow her to go for teh weekend then one day a week for a few hours would be fine with me. I hope you can get it figured out.

So....I am stuck on the couch, and I'm bored....now that most of us know what we're having, what would you think of me working on a siggie for all of us to use? I have some new software, I honestly haven't mastered it yet, so I don't know how long it'd take, but...yeah, beneficial for everyone lol

Any other mamas in here having problems with anxiety? Mine has gotten WAY worse with this pregnancy. Like several anxiety attacks a day... Should I mention it to my OB?

High Risk called, the FISH results are all normal...it's pretty uncommon for full results to be different than the FISH, so I'm feeling a lot better right now. We'll have the full karyotype next week probably, and the micro array either that same week or the next. Since we were told 6 weeks initially, I'm pretty glad!
