That's what I'm hoping. I knew my vision was acting funny but I kind of held out hope that it was all in my head and I wouldn't need them. I'm not too worried, it'll just take time.

I would totally suggest counseling as I think it does a lot of good.

Truth is though there are places out there that can help you. I literally made about 300 a month when my (now ex) husband decided he wanted a divorce. It was tough but I made it.

Also, a man would want to be with you. I know plenty of women with as many kids as you who divorce or split up and end up in amazing relationships with great guys!

That sounds like BS! You should definitely look for a different OB. I agree with you that an anatomy scan is important. They check baby's kidneys, heart and all sorts of things.

I have glasses that I am suppose to wear for reading and being on the computer. Of course, I am an insurance agent who stares at a computer screen all day so I have to wear my glasses almost all the time. I really prefer not to wear them.

I'm just guessing, but if they did it at the ER when she went, given her gestational age, they probably did a very thorough scan and took all measurements then.... after all, she was in the ER and they want to make sure NOTHING is wrong with baby. Generally they then share that info with the dr who normally cares for that patient. I think her grievance is more that she "didn't get to see". While I understand how she would want to see and all that good stuff we look forward to, I also understand the Dr's viewpoint of an "unnecessary" U/S. At this point she will likely have to get an elective scan because any other OB will have the same access to that info when they transfer her medical info for this pregnancy. I mean, she could ask what the gender is if that is what she wants to know.

No, I'm not mainly mad about not finding out the gender. There is no way she got all the info she needed in a less than 15min scan... Not when most anatomy scans take at least 30minutes of measurements before they even start talking to you and showing stuff. The tech checked my uterus, placenta, and cervix and that baby had a heart beat. I doubt she looked at much else. She couldn't have in such a short period.

The wand was practically in my crotch the majority of the time to check my cervix. I don't believe for a second that the er scan was equal to what an anatomy scan would be.

Half the reason anatomy scans take so long, isn't the measurements, it's the pointing everything out. She could have easily gotten the measurements needed in 15 minutes.

They did not point anything out with my daughter for almost 30minutes. She was quiet the whole time and only then did she point things out.

I talked about it with a bunch of other women and they all agreed that it didn't seem right. I suppose I could ask to see if there are any ultrasound techs on though, they could ease my mind.

My anatomy scans have all only taken about 20 minutes, except for with my daughter...hers took about a half hour, and it was diagnosing a lot of defects. I have NEVER had an ultrasound take longer than that....and hers wouldn't of taken that long if it wasn't for how bad her heart is.

An ER tech does a LOT of these...they're all about speed.

My anatomy scan took about 20 minutes- with pointing thibgs out.

personally, I will not have one with any future pregnancies. It will blt change my decision about keeping the baby, I would not consent to.further testing (amnio etc), and therefore pointless.

My anatomy scan took 45 minutes but it covered both babies. She pointed things out along the way and then took maybe 2 minutes at the end to get a shot of each face and feet. I'll share some of those when I get them scanned. There are like 40 pictures so I need a good chunk of time lol.

Mine always take over an hour, but I have difficult children and this pregnancy she is growing very slow. I have to go back for another detailed scan in a few weeks.
