How scary   I know hearing any bad news about a child is devastating!

Did they give you a copy of the lab results? What on them was abnormal?

I do not know your family or reasoning for keeping it from them but it might be a good idea to share the information with them because you may need some support. I couldnt even imagine learning that something may be seriously wrong with my child and like you I may keep it in. Its hard to say from an outsiders point of view.

Try not to stress and worry and just enjoy each day with her. How is she acting? Does she seem off from her normal self? And I know she has seizures, what kind of seizures are they?

Stay strong! She needs you to.

  i hope you get some answers soon. I cannot imagine thinking something like that was wrong with my child. But it can happen to anyone, anytime. Really scary. Are those signs of leukimia? what makes you think thats what it is??
Im sorry that you feel like you cant tell your family, i know at a time like this that is the first thing i would do as i would need to for support. but i know not all people have very close relationships with family. For now just try to relax as much as possible and enjoy being with her, nothing has been diagnosed and as of now its just some numbers not being normal... I hope the other tests can determine what it is and i hope its not what you think it is. Stay strong mama! and keep us posted. I will be thinking and praying for you guys.

they told me her Red blood cells and white blood cell count was low.. just over the phone i dont have a copy. she gave me a number to make an appt with a specialist and she said more tests will probably be done.

she has epilpesy and a gene deletion on her chromosome 7.. i did googling and chromosme 7 is linked to lukemia it said... she has bruises all over body, and she also has had acouple bloody noses, pale face with bags, and complaing her tummy hurts now an then.....

i hope its just medicine causing this...

I hope its just the medicine too. And you should stop googling...it is going to stress you out even more! Google tells you everything you dont want to hear i find. Every symptom is something bad.

It very well could be. I know it is hard not to think the worst  

Does she have grand mal seizures? Maybe that could be contributing to her bruising and seizures also wear a person down so that could be the bags under her eyes or any tiredness.

Medications can mess with blood counts and her wbc count must only be slightly off because if they were way low the dr should have wanted to put some precautions in place to prevent any infection.

Do you know how soon you will be able to get her into see a specialist? And what specialist are they referring you to?

I called her nerologist and left a message with a nurse about the results.. im hoping we can see her and then she can possibly see if it IS the meds..
they didnt give me numbers so idk how low is low, but they said it was abnormal and her Red and white blood cells were lower than normal.

I am so sorry to hear what she is going through.

Anyway nuero put in orders for more blood tests to test litver function and stuff.. She said it very well could be the meds and that is releiving... And we should know if the meds are effecting her liver and causing the cbc to be the way it was...

The increased risk of Leukemia only comes for those with Williams Syndrome, and even then it's still rare. They are probably just playing it safe and checking. I know it's scary and I'm here if you want to talk.

Thanks   i feel a bit better knowing its probably her meds.. I just hate her burises, adn the fact she started gushing a bloody nose randomly over the weekend..

Its hard not to over analyze when it comes to our kids, But just pray for the best! I think it will be ok. its prob something to do with the meds like you said.

I had my 17 week appointment today. I weighed in at 124lbs (BOO!) and baby had a heartbeat of 156.

I scheduled my 20 week ultrasound today as well... Feb 19th @ 10:00am. I'll be 20 weeks and 1 day.
