hating your own name....what do you do?

I have never loved my first name. But I have recently started really hating it. I'm not sure if should suck it up and live with it or what..I have considered chnaging it or going by my middle name but so many people know by my first name.....my name is Billie Danielle. What would you do?

I'd go by my middle name

I hate my name. My husband says I don't seem like a Jessica. I go by Jessica at work, but everyone beyond that calls me Jess. It is what it is though. I wouldn't think of changing my name because it is a part of me, whether I like it or not.

Go by my middle name or just live with it. I'd feel kind of silly asking everyone to start calling me something other than what they have been calling me for so many years. If I was worried about how my name would be perceived in the working world I'd go by my middle name.

Just go by your middle name. I hate how my name is spelt so when I get married I'm changing when I change my last name.

When I started reading this I thOught it was kind of ridiculoius to consider changing your name just because you don't like it, but your first name is awful. I would at least change around to the opposite, Danielle Billie. What was your mom thinking?

Haha I didn't it was as far as awful.....my grandfather was William

I would try out your middle. Just start introducing yourself to people as Danielle and maybe change it on facebook. My SO's cousin did this, sort of. They grew up knowing her as Peggy Sue and she decided to go by Mae, but her name is not Margaret, it was weird.

I was considering doing that. People on fb that don't know me already assume my name is Danielle and my husband is billie and we have one of those combind Facebooks. So annoying.
