I'm not sure :/ every insurance I've looked up about is different. I'm still on my father's insurance until me and SO get married next year, but LO wasn't allowed on the plan.

I think it affects your credit, but they are suppose to look into whats on your credit report and can't hold medical bills against you....But i may be wrong

No, they won't cover your child. But legally they have to cover you until age 26, even if you're married. Doesn't matter what insurance company it is.

SO got charged 1000 when he went to the ER once. His work made him go in cause his foot was looking bad (he has an ulcer that flares up) and they looked at it and told him to keep his appointment with his doctor that friday... And this was after his insurance paid like 60%. Such bs...

A $250 doctor bill almost prevented me from buying my house...yup $250. Nuts! I didn't know it was there (the bill was from when I was 18 and my mom said she paid it) so when the bank said I had an outstanding bill from 6 years before, I immediately called and said I'd pay in full. They cleared the debt and I got the house loan!

Hospital bills DO matter.

ugh! if it were just under my name - I would pay what I can when I can. But it's under my dad. And I can't do that to him. And they went into collection so quickly! but the time we got the money, it went into collection already!!

my mother's friend's son had an outstanding medical bill, paid about $500 on it. and literally told them "I have absolutely no more money to give you." and they cleared his debt and his credit of the bills.

I wish they'd do that for me. I have probably 14k worth of medical debt, they don't understand the word 'unemployed'. :-/
