Red Rasberry Leaf Capsules

posted 2nd Dec
Has anyone used red Rasberry leaf capsules instead of drinking the tea during pregnancy? I plan on asking my doctor first, but if you did how many mg/day were you taking in each trimester?

I take the capsules because I don't like tea. To the chick above who said capsules are nasty... lolwut?

You don't start earlier than 14 wks though (2nd trimester). I took one capsule per day then upped it to 2 at 18 wks I think. I'm upping it to 3x a day @ 28 wks, then 4x around idk 35 wks? The maximum you can take is 5 I believe. I talked to my mw about it.

That's exactly what I needed to know! I'm not able to see a midwife this time so I'm not sure how knowledgeable my doctor will be about it. I'm finding a lot of mixed opinions on it online so I needed firsthand knowledge. I'm almost 14 weeks now so it'd be the perfect time to order it. What kind are you using?

actually, you can take up to 6 per day. at least, that's what the brand I have says. I take these:

I bought them at Vitamin Cottage. You can order them online too. It's hard looking up how many are okay to take in each trimester because all the info I found online is for the tea   Why aren't you able to see a mw, are you high risk?

No, I'm not in a homebirth friendly area right now and the hospital I'm at has two options- be seen on the maternity floor by a team of OBs and midwives and have zero say over who delivers me OR be seen by a family doctor and see her my entire pregnancy and she'll be on call when I get admitted. There are only two midwives in the hospital, so I chose option two because an OB would be my last choice and I'd rather not see a midwife than risk a cut happy OB My doctor seems really cool with all my natural birthing plans and everything so for now I'm happy with it. We're shooting for a water birth as long as no one else is using the only birthing tub there.

I know   It's not an ideal situation for sure, but I'm trying to make the best of it. The closest birth center is over 2 hours away in Atlanta. I totally agree about it seeming relaxing! I swear I spent close to 24 hours of my last labor in my bathtub lol!
