Um wow.

You live with bare necessities. Nothing extra. Work two or more jobs if you can. Coupon. Live without cable and Internet. Shop at thrift stores. You just basically survive and if everyone else can do it then you can too. And like everyone else has said, childcare asst is different especially if you're in school so I highly doubt you wouldn't qualify.

you have to find out who offers the scholarship... im not sure if its the same but here it is called the nurturing center... maybe google best begining (sp) scholarship in your area. I thought I didn't qualify cause I don't qualify for SNAP or Medicaid until a friend of mine told me to go in and apply and suprisingly I qualified with the ability to make 1800 dollars more. But I would start with google and see what you find. and if you don't find anything call your local public assistance office and they would be able to point you to the right direction.

Have you looked into food pantries? Especially nongovernment ones such as churches. We have $25 a month for food and we have to go to a food pantry because we didn't qualify for help.

Our high school used to have a child developmental class and parents got discounted daycare but had to trust their kids to teens!

Keep all your appliances unplugged unless you are using them. It saved us like $40-50 a month.

cloth diapers would save you money I would also check into wic it doesn't follow the same guidlines as state help does and can help a ton.

Are cloth diapers an option, do you have your own washer?

Use coupons for things you would buy anyways, only buy on sale and look for discounted soon to be expired foods that you will cook soon.

Can you trade in your car for something a little cheaper?

Sounds silly, but make sure your tires have air and cruise control when you can. I'm telling you, made a crazy difference in gas we use!!

Eta: I know with DHs loans, once he's in school again his loan is automatically deferred until he's done.

That car payment and car insurance are a huge chunk. I'd ditch the car and go for an older, cheaper one. My hubby oats like 30 dollars a month for a mid nineties van with no loan. Food pantries was a great idea too. Thy seems like a lot on diapers for an almost one year old. Do you use off brand? We love target brand diapers. Umm you can donate plasma and make an extra 200 bucks a month. Easy money

I owe $10000 on my car. My insurance is high bc I have a reckless driving on my record bc I was speeding. So I just quit paying the bank on my car? I have no savings and it is only $210 a month. I don't see where or how I could get cheaper.

I will look into child care assistance but I don't qualify for wic, Medicaid or all kids. I aplied and was denied. I had wic for the first 12 months but this is my last month and the only reason I qualified then bc I did not get paid but 60% during my maternity leave.

so that leaves roughly 700 dollars a month left over... ? but obviously not counting food and such. Why are the utilites so high?? Like how much do you pay for certian things utilities wise?

I pay 60 for electric and 30 for internet cause I need it for school.

Well good luck. Sounds like cost of living there is high. We pay 570 for all utilities including cable and internet. I hope you can figure something out!

I stopped paying everything else. You need that car.
Credit cards, renters insurance, medical bills. Paying that stuff didn't really matter anymore. Rent and food and daycare was all I could do. My elec bill got over $1000 and they never shut it off.

honestly to me it sounds like you need a good budget plan. $16 an hour is a very decent pay check. Have you ever heard of Dave Ramsey? he has an awesome financial planning program that saved my life as a single mom. I make 9 an hour and work 25 hours a week and have pretty comparable bills. Granted my scholarships and Grants help SOOO much but I have to be on an insane strict budget and thanks to dave ramseys budget plan and scholarships/grants and childcare assistance I am barely making it, but making it.

That is 2560 before taxes and insurance and the 401k loan payment I have automatically taken out. I bring home about 1800 to 2000 per month bc I don't always get 40 hours. I font have 700 left over and those figures don't include food.

I live in a 4br house that is 1550 sq ft. Normal rent here is around $
900 for that amount of room. A 1 br apt is like $550. But even in my one br my utilities were $100. My mom was watching lo at my house so the stuff was always on. It might go down to $125 now or so.
