Water broke or pee?

So, I woke up with soaking underwear and when I stood up more fell into them. I did run to the bathroom and pee, though I didn't really have to go so badly that I should be peeing myself. I'm still a little wet down there (but I always am) and I can't smell at all.
Is there anything I can do to check? We have no idea when my water broke with my first, the doctor went to break it and there was nothing to break. I don't want to run to L&D unnecessarily, especially since a lot of my family is there right now for my cousin and I don't want to see them when it's a false alarm.

Edit: And what happens if it breaks and I still don't progress any? I mean, I really should start progressing, right? I've been having contractions 10 minutes apart for over a week now and I woke up to them feeling a lot less like contractions and more like BH than they have.

Lay down for 30 minutes-1 hour. When you stand up, if you feel a gush, go in and get checked.

i'd say go. it's the only way to know if you can't smell. good luck!

Personally, with your background, i'd go in. If it gushed when you stood up, its most likely your water.

Lay down for 15 minutes and get up, if it pours out again then it's probably your water.

Yup I agree lay down and see if it happens again.

And if u don't progress they'd prolly start pitocin to help your contractions get stronger. Idk.

Do you have a history of peeing yourself? When my water broke it literally gushed out when i stood up. I didn't know if i peed myself but then i thought "well it never happened before to me" so my brother actually came down to my apartment and said it had no smell. Is there anyone else there that can check for you ? My contractions didn't really start until about a half hour in. Then an hour in they were full blown.

It doesn't hurt to get checked. I'm sure they see it a lot haha.

It probably isn't pee. Honestly...You'd probably know if it were pee. Water breaking doesn't mean you have to immediately run up there, though. You can wait and hour, see if it's still coming out, and then go when you know for sure. It'd save you from feeling like an ass. >.<

Mine broke at 29 weeks while at work, my doc was 30 mins away hubby was sure I had pissed myself, he told me I better not be wasting a trip bc I pissed myself. Lol I had my daughter at 34 weeks after being admitted into the hospital 3 hours away with a nicu. 2 months later we came home, a healthy 5 pound baby girl.

When my water broke I had stood up to use the bathroom (just had woken up) and before I could fully sit on the toilet, liquid came out in a small gush. I honestly didn't think anything of it and went back to bed. Woke up a couple hours later to use the bathroom again and I didn't even make it to the bedroom door before another gush came out. I went downstairs, asked the same thing you are asking and then layed down for about a half hour-45 mins and stood up again. At first nothing happened and I gave my hopes up a little bit lol. Then I walked around a bit more and sure enough, another gush.

I called L&D and the lady said it sounded like my water was leaking, didn't fully break. If it would have fully broken you would know. I went into the hospital, they did a test to test that its really amniotic fluid and it was. So I got to stay there until I had DD. My water first started leaking around 8 30 am....that night around midnight I was laying in the hospital bed and felt a pop, pop, pop and BOOM water REALLY broke...it was disgusting.   Had DD the next night at 9:01pm.


SOOO I'm guessing your water is leaking...I'd call L&D and see what they think?

I would go to L&?D the test only takes a few seconds...with my daughter i was in bed and mine broke there was no gush and no more came out when i stood up i just wantd to be safe so i went in and thankfuly i did because after 12 hours with no contractions they had to start an iv to prevent infection and i had to be induced...good luck

Well I went in and it was my water.   So we're here until he comes out.

Congrats! I thought it sounded like your water. I hope you have a short and easy labor!
