My son is the same. His main comfort still is the breast though. He's 14 months and hasn't found any real comfort toy or fingers lol.

Until they're like preschool age and don't want to leave their friends haha.

My first son never had a blankie or sucked his thumb. Now my 2nd son is 3 (will be 4 in March) and he will freak out at bed time if he doesn't have his blankie and sucks his thumb. Everyone told me to try putting hot sauce on his thumb, but he absolutely love it! lol His teeth are worse than his brother's though. He did chip his two front teeth and one of them has discoloration. Not sure if the discoloration is from a dead nerve or something to do with him sucking his thumb. I wish I could get him to stop sucking his thumb though! Even if he does just do it when he is sleeping.

Has he seen a dentist for the discolored one. My dd chipped her tooth and they soda if it discored Togo back in because tooth trauma can kill the tooth. That can affect his teeth in the long run and they might need to do something to the dead nerves. Idk. But I would ask a dentist.

Both my kids are completely different so far. My son used a binky for a few months atleast, always had to be held, and had a favorite stuffed animal he had to have with him (although hes mostly over that phase). My baby girl wont take a binky at all...im lucky to rarely get her to take one. So all kids are different i think. Some just dont need a security thing.
