The best thing you can do is tell anyone and everyone that breastfeeding is the only option you will consider. I had formula thrown at me from every turn.

If I were you'd, I'd look into renting the hospital grade pump. Those are incredibly nice!

Agreed. I don't have any experience with a preemie, but the best advice to give any breastfeeding woman is to not give up and DON'T give formula.

Oh hot dog. That's not much at all. That's good to know. I was thinking I was going to need to spit out an ounce right off the bat.

It took LO several days to take over an oz. When she left the hospital she was finally up to 3 oz

DD was full term, but I was only getting a few drops per breast and she was just fine with that. They say full term babies only need a teaspoon at a time at first. I would imagine a preemie would need the same or less.

Mine has never been a big eater. She's 5 1/2 months and still eats 3 ounces every two hours during the day(I pump during the day and nurse at night), except three times a day she gets two ounces and little bit of baby food.

Same. LO is 13 months and still only drinks 3-5 oz of milk if I'm at work.

Awesome!!! It's like a small miracle each time you get more and more milk!

I remember the first time I filled a 12ml syringe. It was a very great feeling!

That's awesome! I was so excited to get just a few drops before my milk came in. Now I have an oversupply due to exclusively pumping during the day, and I can easily pump 6 ounces at a time.
