re: Teens, drugs & alcohol.

I see nothing wrong with letting your kid have a glass of wine or a beer at dinner or something like that. The reason alcohol abuse is such a problem in America is because it's so taboo. My grandma grew up in Germany and they're allowed to drink at 16, maybe even younger, there. My mom and aunt were allowed to have wine or beer with dinner when they were kids. They did not turn into alcoholics. As a matter of fact my aunt does not drink at all and my mom drinks like twice a year.
That being said I will not host parties where there is underage drinking and I will not provide alcohol to my kids' friends because that is not my place to do so.
I really think weed will be legal by the time I have kids old enough to try it and I honestly wouldn't care if they smoked every now and then as long as they didn't make it a habit. People are way too hung up on drugs and alcohol imo. I partied a lot as a teen and I never had any problems.

Actually as a matter of fact i live in maine and thats absolutly not true, there are news reports and police blogs in the paper all the time about parents getting fined for that and another fact they are cracking down underage drinking as well as other things in maine, the state i live in remember, so i would suggest that, unless you live in maine, i would highly recommend getting my facts straight

This is the same approach we plan on taking.

Nope not in my house. However, in our culture it's the norm to drink when you hit a certain age so that would be ok---not getting wasted, but just a glass of something. With men it starts early lol.

if the drinking age was lowered and pot was legal it wouldnt even be a issue.

its gonna happen outside of the house tho. half the fun of it is hanging out with friends at a party. not sitting at home with ur parents. lol
