re: Could Elliot work for boy or girl?

Quoting Dr. Paradigm Shift:" You can name your kid whatever you want, of course. The OP asked -specifically-if it worked on a girl, ... [snip!] ... Nobody said anything about anyone not being allowed to use a name, just that, to a lot of people, it's a stupid thing to do. "
Difference of opinion, I guess.

Have a great day, ladies!

I wonder if the same goes for naming your son Ashley or Kerry?!

If those used to be boy names and many many many woman name their daughter Ashley for example... Isn't it the same thing? :/

It is the same thing and it's just as stupid. Ashley IS a dude name and everywhere besides the US, it's still used as such, same with Kerry.

Ashley and Kerry are masculine names. It doesn't matter if people name girls boy names they are still boy names

No Elliot is a boys name and I instantly think of a boy if someone said that name. I dont care if someone named their daughter that, I think its horrible. You would never name your daughter Bob or John, James, Richard.....so why Elliot?!!

No. As a girl with a boys' name I would never give my kids names meant for the opposite sex.

I usually am not a fan of boys names on girls, but I actually like Eliot on a girl
