Like to see if he's ready? I think with 2 year olds, they'll see if he's able to sit still and if he's potty trained. Unless it's like a daycare preschool place.

I was just asking because the preschools and headstart here won't take kids that are under 3. Unless it's a daycare/preschool

Not usually. Unless its private. When he's three he can be in a 3s program. Each state is diff in how their preschool programs work. But in MI there is no program that will allow a 2 yr old. Head start takes 3 yr olds (They can start when they turn 3 anytime during the school year). But u have to be low income and meet qualifications. State funded preschools here follow public school age guidelines just minus a year so 4 by whatever date the public school goes by. Some special Ed preschool will take 2.5 yr olds depending on need.

He'd probably have to look into parochial if he realllllly wants him to start. But I'd just do a threes program next yr.

The earliest you can start preschool around here is 3 and they have to be fully potty trained. There is no testing-in process, you just sign them up.

Well if he count, I'd say to just keep working with him. It won't hurt to teach it to him at home. They have little ABC books at the dollar store that kids can trace over to learn how to write their letters, and to recognize the letters. Your sil can always get flash cards to teach him the alphabet letters, and she can even work on teaching him the sounds they make.

Parochial is Christian school.

She should get him a playgroup or something then. Really 2 years of prek is plenty (3&4).
