How do you cope?

So DH is having Back Surgery sometime next month or the beginning on Jan.
By then our son will be 5 months... and right now All DH does is sleep. I do everything myself around the house and with the Baby.
So my question is... how ((If anyone has had to take care of an infant and an adult)) do you cope? When I think about it... I kind of question my ability to be able to keep my sanity... Especially when DH acts like a cry baby with every little thing.

Just need advice.... Trying to prepare myself for whats going to happen.

in my honest opinion baby comes first, wether he acts like a cry baby or not he needs to understand that your LO comes before his needs and he can wait. Just do what you can. Make sure he knows that too.

It was hard. Very hard. My husband had his vasectomy go wrong and then came down with a bad illness and was in and out of the hosptial for weeks. And on top of him and my preemie 4 month old *I was still recovering from my c-section and almost death* I was also taking care of my 86 year old great-great grandfather. You might feel like you are going to be crazy but it will pass and you'll make it though!!

I don't think he will ever understand this... Im trying so hard to bite my tongue about it... but He seriously acts like the world revolves around him. For the most part I ignore it... and focus on whats more important, that being my son. I just can't help but think that DH is going to demand things to be done for him as if i have a leash around my neck.... I already have enough on my plate taking care of little one to the point where sometimes I feel like a single parent... I just don't know what to expect... and it kinda scares me :\

Did you ever call a family member to come over and help? Im not sure whats going to happen with all of this... but I'm hoping before his surgery, him and I along with our families can sit down and talk about me having some help when i need it...
This roller coster ride just keeps getting intense for me.
Im sorry you had to go through that. And I find it inspiring that you were able to pull through it.

i made sure DH knew that DS's needs come first no matter what, there have been times DH has wanted to get mad at me for not packing his lunch and then he sees me trying to console a screaming baby and hes like oh thats alright. Also ive made it a habit not to bight my tongue, if he pisses me off or expects me to do something for him when DS needs me i let him know and i usually dont let him know nicely.
