Combo nursery/master or guest bedroom?

posted 30th Nov
Has anyone had a combination nursery and guest room or master bedroom? We only have a 3 bedroom house now and my plan is basically to turn the guest room into a nursery while leaving the big bed in there for guests or for me to sleep in. If you've done it and have pictures, I'd love to see them! Or if you have any suggestions for ways to make it work that'd be great, too! I'm thinking I'll probably pick a color scheme based on the sex of the baby and do crib bedding and regular bedding in those colors and different prints, but I'm open to other ideas, too!

Watching. I plan on doing the literal same exact thing you're talking about. Leave the queen guest bed in there and convert my bookshelf into her dresser, add the crib, and rocker. I'm thinking about painting an accent wall and putting her name up in letters. Here's the bookshelf idea

I love that! I totally repinned it. It sucks because our third "bedroom" is a bonus room over the garage so it's a weird layout =/ I'm debating if I should keep the TV in there or not for late nights.

I have my almost 2 year old bed next to our bed so she can start to sleep in her own bed now that my son will be here any day to. And then his crib has wheels so we put it in front of our closet so if we have to get in it we can move it. And then my other two kids are in the other two rooms we have. It works for us cause my other two kids are almost 5 and 6 and the two other rooms are on the other side of the house and they are old enough to walk all the way across the house if they need something where as my almost 2 year old will get into something if se did that or she would lock herself in a room and we wouldn't be able to know if something is going on.

We can't have the new baby in our room for very long because DH works insane hours   Our almost 2 year old sleeps with us in bed still, and I have no idea how I'll get her out of there lol!

Isn't that great? we have so much furniture in the guest room I was upset about getting rid of it all; but with that bookshelf combo all I'll have to do is re-home the books on it and our computer desk. You should leave the TV in there, couldn't hurt. I plan on moving the TV that's in there now into our master bedroom... because I will most likely have her in our room in a bassinet the first 3 months anyway like I did with DS, and I don't want the sound of her crying to wake him being in the guest room which is right next to his. if you want you can take a pic of your room and PM it to me I can try and help

What we did was put her bed next to ours so she feels like she is close to us and then we start to move it farther and farther away until she is in her own room I did this with my oldest kids and it worked really good with them. Also I put more blankets in her bed to make it softer and more comfortable so she will sleep better in it and longer without gettingout of her bed to get into mine.
