So my ds has been doing great potty training. He has had no accidents for three days! We did the cold turkey method just put him in underwear and he is to the point now when he will tell us when he has to go. Also he goes on the normal toilet thing is we haven't left home since we started on sunday but were going out to dinner tonight and I am nervous. Any tricks on when you go out? I am bringing his seat that sits on top of the toilet I just dont want him to freak out when were out and go in his underwear.

just ask him evry 30 mins if he has to go. Offer him a prize if he goes while your out.

That's weird to bring that to a restaurant lol

Put him on the toilet before you leave, when you get there, after you're done and when you get home. When DD was beginning potty training we made a million trips lol

I just hold DD up on the toilet, well used to. Most places with a family bathroom have mini toilets, DD loves them.
Whenever we went to the in-laws I brought the seat so she could bring herself. Now she has it mastered and doesn't need anything.

Your kid will be able to hold himself up on the toilet and if he can't you can help him. Just keep reminding him!
Also please dont bring the potty seat to a restaurant lol

Lol gotcha. My son is 2 1/2 and he can hold himself up on the toilet fine. Maybe try it at home before you leave without his potty chair and tell him at the restaurant he'll have to go on the adult toilet. He will understand

lol he does go on the big toilet!! I think that I was misunderstood. Its just the seat that sits ontop of the big toilet so they dont have to hold themselves up! I would not bring a full on potty chair to a restraunt lol!!!

No no no I totally understood lol
I'm just saying my son can hold himself up when he needs to and I'm sure he's smaller than your son. I wasn't sure if you had tried it with him or not? Just letting you know you don't need to bring the seat
And offering advice on how to let him do it. Like have him sit on your toilet without the seat before you leave and explain that there arent potty seats at the restaurant so he'lll have to go without one.

Yeah I tried but hes too worried about holding his penis down lol so he wont hold himself up. I even tried sitting him on there backwards lol nothing I am telling you my child is def. my child stubborn as can be. I blame my hubby anyway for him wanting to sit to pee. dh is a germaphobe and would never let him watch him go pee which is why i think it took ds so long to pt and he wants to sit like mommy does! Crazy kid!
