posted 30th Nov
didn't really know where to post this but i'm attempting to do our Christmas pictures myself (didn't have the money to pay someone) and i just don't know how to go about it... i don't have a license so i'll be doing them at home (probably inside since it has been crappy outside) unless my husband is home during the day... i have a Nikon coolpix p6000. basically i need tips

I just sit the kids against a wall or on the couch and use a plain colored sheet or even a winter theme throw behind them. I have done my own the past few years.

Use a white sheet as a drop cloth and hang some christmas lights against it. You could wrap up some empty boxes to look like presents, or put some tree ornaments on the ground beside the kids. You'll be amazed at how well they will look. Just keep it simple!

Use as much natural lighting as possible-having a big window behind you is your best bet. Always a better turn out. Hang christmas lights behind a sheet for a pretty background. I love candid shots as well as poses; meaning let them play an be kids-wrap each other up in lights. Then normal ones   hope this helps!
