I gave into what he wanted. He had his reasons, and I just decided to let him make the choice. I regret it though - although our son is/was fine, I still wish I would have fought harder.

I do the birthing, I get the final say.

We both were for a circ, but had I not been, it wouldn't have happened.

I think she's asking why, though? Does he/do you think you are unable to make an educated decision on it because you don't have one?

We were both against circumcising; but if it had come down to him wanting it done and me not wanting it done, we wouldn't have gotten it done. I was the one who did hours of research on the decision.

See, i've done the SAME thing, and he's argued like,
"foreskin naturally retracting (on the un-circ'd) is the equivalent to the pain of having a circumcision done"
and it's just like, 'what????" uhh..

For us, I read up on it but wasn't swayed one way or the other so I had DH read a few things on circumcising and uncircumcising and let him decide. He
Is the one with a penis so he would have a stronger opinion then me.

See, especially with my first being un-circ'd, there's just no chance i will waiver on this at all.

Well, I can see him using the I have a penis argument now will allow you to use the same argument when your daughter is older and wants/needs any feminine procedures done (like birth control, cervidel, ect)

I've had more then one friend who's sons penis has had issues and they've had to be circd later I life 2-4 and it's tough I circ'd DS, DH didn't want to but is now glad he did. Arguments go both ways. I guess your strongest argument is that you also don't want the baby to be different then his brother when they grow up.. Not that that's your reasoning more of a fireback at I have a penis argument.

Both my DH and I never even questioned whether we wanted it done or not. It wasn't even a thought it our mind that we didn't want it done.

I'm due November 17th, have 3 kids & 2 angel babies & live in Hillsboro, Oregon

Also, as I'm assuming due is circumcised, take into account how his emotions play into this. The fact that you want your son intact, in dude's mind, makes him feel like something is wrong with him because he's not. I read an article on it and it really helped me understand why DH was so adamant about getting DS circumcised.

I didn't know much about the subject and since I don't have a penis, I let my husband decide. It wasn't that big of a deal either way to me.

IMO I think it's dad's choice, but mom has a say too.

I think he doesn't know that times have changed too. Rates of circumcision has gone down, so it's not going to be like he's going to be made fun of in high school for not being circumcised. (which is a goofy ass reason anyways)

We didn't do it. If he had been for it, we STILL wouldn't have done it... because no one is going to alter my son for no reason. It's just not something I can compromise on.

With my DH it was easy. I told him I didn't want to and why and he just agreed.
