You need a prescription to get Clomid. OBs won't give you the prescription until you've been TTC for a year. You could buy it online if you want, but its not safe. You have no idea what's really in the pill and ideally you should be monitored while talking Clomid because you could develop OHSS.

I checked your profile to see how long you've been TTC. I read your other thread, you want to take Clomid just so you can have twins. No will OB will give you Clomid because you want twins. I'm not sure where you got the figure that 80% who conceive have multiples. That's far from accurate, it's a 5-8% chance, I've been friends with many infertile ladies on this site; almost all of them had a singleton pregnancy. Taking Clomid when you don't have any fertility problems is not a good idea because the chance of you developing OHSS is higher. You may not even produce more than one egg, it could just make the egg that you produce healthy. I have twins in my family, I took Clomid when I got pregnant with my daughter I only had 1 baby. I've also taken 4 other times I only produced 1 egg. The more you take Clomid the higher risk of ovarian cancer you have.

I'm seriously not trying to be preachy or come off as a bitch but if you don't NEED Clomid don't take it. There's other ways to up your chances of having twins if you want them badly. You could take Cassava pills, google it.
Cassava actually gives you a high chance of twins. Cassava is basically yams. Yams have been proven to increase the rate of twins. The Yoruba tribe has one of the highest twin rates (in the world) and their diet mainly consists of cassava.

Clomid has smurfed my pregnancy up bad. Don't take it just because of selfish reasons.

I've read about the yams, supposedly they can cause hyperovulation

I think it's anyone's choice to take whatever they want, wanting twins is not selfish.

I'm going to ask my ob but if he says no it wouldn't be the end of my world

Seriously it is selfish. It's not fun sitting around praying everyday your baby doesn't die all because of clomid and it causing twins. I have so many complications because of clomid and causing me to conceive twins. It's not always fun and it's scary and stressful and something part of me regrets. Unless you have real fertility issues don't just take it for fun. It's not fun.
