My SO is stuck on the name Perseus if our baby is a boy. I do not like this name really. Maybe for a dog, but not really my child. Anything else I suggest he thinks is "stupid" because he didn't pick it. I know we still have a while to come up with names, but what do you guys think of the name, Perseus?

Have you guys tried sitting down and going through a baby book and each writing down the names you each like. You may find a few you both like

No. I think a name like that should stick with Mythology and Greek Gods. It is a good name for a animal. We have a Zeus.

We have kind of done that looking online. But the problem is, he is "done" looking because he has found the names he likes. We have decided on a girl name, but not a boy name.

If you personally don't like the name then stand your ground. You have to agree on your child's name.

I agree. He claims that it is "his turn" to pick the name, because I named my daughter. I told him that he can name our child as long as it goes through me first and I also like it. We had first agreed on Eli, but then he decided he like Perseus and no longer likes Eli.

I'm due in four weeks and having the same problem... Agreeing on a boy name! Boy names are so much harder than girl names. My boyfriend has come up with some names I will not even consider naming my child, but he loves them. I have two names picked out, which he says are both ok, just not his favorite, but if he doesn't come up with something else that we can both agree on, one of those two names will be our son's name. I've already chosen a name he likes as a middle name so I think I'm being fair. If you absolutely do not like the name, do not name your child that. My last son wasn't named for almost 3 days because his father wanted with everything inside him to name him Hanibal Lector. That WAS NOT happening! lol

Haha omg! Hanibal Lector is horrable!! I swear, guys are aweful at stuff like this! I let my SO pick middle names for both boy and girl, which are Wayne and Elaine. They mean something to him and I like them, but I think he needs to be more reasonable about looking at more names. I tried explaining to him that with my daughter, her name changed 4 times before i decided on one. He may love Perseus now, but he may also find another name that he loves more. Men are so stuborn!

Agreed! We argued for months about that name. I was not going to budge though! lol. With this baby my boyfriend isn't being too stubborn though. Thankfully I don't have to deal with a war like that again!
