Prenatal Vitamins

Hi I am just curious about the prenatal vitamins that I have bought over the counter without seeing a doctor first and I was taken 2 vitamins per day since October and still taking 2 this month and I found out I was pregnant. So am I harming myself and my unborn child?

Just start taking one a day.

I'd say yes although I'm not sure. Only because two seems like a lot to me? My doctor told me to only take one. How come you have not seen a doctor?

I didn't know I was pregnant the whole time. My last period was September 26 and it was weird that I have never got my period in October so I am like it was normal that my period will come again but however this month I took a pregnant test and it was positive and I had no clue for the whole time.

I see. Well, I think the best you can for now is take a vitamin a day till you see your doctor. I didn't take the vitamins till I was four months along but it never hurts to be safe.

You only need to take 1 vitamin per day unless a Dr. tells you differently. You have to take a lot in order to over dose on vitamins. You pee out all the vitamins that you didn't need from the ones you took. Congrats!

You should be reading the directions on the side of the bottle. Some prenatals are two for a dose. Some are one. It all depends on the brand.

I was following the direction on the bottle and a friend of mines was telling me that it not safe to take 2 because of what her doctor told her. We both have same kind of prenatal but i follow what on the bottle.

Well if you're following the directions on the bottle you'll be fine until you talk to your Dr.
