I hate my dog!

posted 30th Nov
I have a 7 year old chihuahua that i am SICK of! He marks his territory on every thing is the house so I keep him tied on a long leash to his crate with nothing in his way. He gets walked 2 - 3x a day and will pee so much and even when hes empty he will still attempt to pee. I dont know what to do any more. I lock him in his crate at night because he play fights with the cat way too much, and all he does is cry in there and take a big piss. Its sad that he isnt more of a family dog. When I go pregnant with my daughter thats when he started going nuts, he was about 3 or 4 yrs old then.

I dont know what to do any more. I often contemplate giving him to a rescue group. Hes also aggressive towards people and barks at any sound coming from the hallway!

It's probably looking for attention. If you feel like you can't handle it, i would say give it away. Cats are much easier.

If he's peeing THAT much, there might be something wrong. Take him to a vet. That could be a sign of a lot of different things

It sounds like it would be better for him and for you if he went to a rescue group. There are tons of them, start looking around.

Omg!! My husbands dog does the same thing!!!! He pees on EVERYTHING!!!! He's puppy pad trained and knows to go outside but he won't go on the puppy pad or outside. Plus a little kid broke his tail when he was younger so he HATES little kids, he's getting better but I know chihuahuas get aggressive the older they get so I feel like we are bout to start back tracking with him

I do love him. I think it will be truly hard to part. He has bitten everyone including my kids and I still cant just let go. Im still in love with the good dog before him. I wish ceasar millan would come to my house!

I'd take him to vet to see if anything could be causing his behavior. If he's okay then I'd probably just give him away to a rescue or rehome him myself.

I don't think this dog has had any shots.... He sheds like crazy and he's a white dog. But no you are not alone

Sounds like your dog needs a trip to the vet he might have an infection if he tries to pee but can't. Also get his shots up to date. IMO little dogs are little smurfs especially chihuahuas. They piss and smurf everywhere but that's just my experience I don't like small dogs because people poorly train them and spoil them lol.

I think thats a trait of their breed, because every chihuahua (i cant spell that smurf) I've heard of, met, and even the one I've owned for 14 years did the same exact thing. He would be outside for a half hour and still come inside and pee on everything. Ruined the floor in two spots. Disgusting little untrainable smurfer, but he was a love other wise. Small breeds are notorious for refusing to house train. Also Belly (the dog) would pee on plastic bags so if you let one hit the floor, it was getting pee'd on.
I work at a petstore, they have sprays that are supposed to deter them marking their territory, and sprays to make them go in certain spots. Maybe try one of them, or get some wee wee bads for the spots he wont stop peeing on?
