That sounds like an awful situation. BUT, it was the family making the decision and not the government.

Yeah. They ended up putting him in hospice, and got pregnant again before he passed. And named their new son Kaleb in memory of his brother. The whole situation is disturbing to say the least. I couldn't imagine being in that situation, but I also couldn't starve my son.

Is it. I know a lot of people like NHS, but I've heard nothing about horror stories about it. I've known a girl to wait in the waiting room in the ER for over 24 hours to be seen.  . Them not having funds at the end of the year and having to refuse people, rationing supplies and procedures. Why the US would want that is beyond me.

I have since de-friended her on Fb. We never were friends really, mostly just fb friends. She has lost a lot of friends through the situation, but it goes a lot deeper. Several people pulled together to do a benefit to raise money for the funeral and she accused people of stealing money from them after they bent over backward to help her out. She has problems.

Yeah its good in some ways because its free, but like if you need to go to AnE your there hours. And not me personally but people I know have been begging for an epidural and they will not give them one because they want to save on funds! And one ward I was on just before I had my baby were running off 2 staff! But then again when I had to have an emergency delivery I had around 10 staff and they were great and I'm very thankful for that x

Obamacare isn't NHS. It's just a step towards it.

And people aren't educated on it, I guess. I know a lot of people under the impression will are all getting free health insurance in 2014. Idk. Lol.

I understand it has it's benefits, our government just isn't the type that I would want to decide if I get treatment or not lol. They don't make the best decisions.

this is true.. it shouldnt be the governemtns... this isnt living "free" if osmeone gets to decide if you deserve meds or not.

what if you have private insurance? or does EVREYONE get free insurance? you can still use your insurance through your job right?

Everyone get's free insurance. I can't say, because I'm not fully educated on this, but I know that you can have private health insurance and have to buy ( well if you want it so you don't HAVE TO) buy a drug plan if you want low cost drugs, in Canada.

But I mean, I doubt many American's will spend their own money on health insurance, if the governments giving it out for free. I don't even know if insurance companies will be around by then.

There is speculation, that obamacare is going to run them out of business. :shrugs:.
