Are sweeps successful?

Im due to have a sweep next Friday I will be 41+1 and wanted to know other peoples storys that have had sweeps before if it was successful or not im hoping to go into labour before but dont think I will been getting faulse labour pains for a week tho but they go away   please reply thanks

i had it done with my first and it my water broke with in 48 hours.. all the other times, i had it done a ( a few tmes with each pregnancy) nothing happened.

I've had it done three times so far this pregnancy... nothing yet.

i had one on the tuesday & got pains all day but they stopped, then had pains all day wednesday then they stopped. then on the thursday i got pains again and they kept getting worse when i bent over so i kept doing that then i finally went into full labour that evening and had my beautiful little girl on the friday morning. i was due to have another sweep on the friday if i hadn't had her. so glad i didnt need to as it wasn't very nice imo.

I had one at 39weeks, 8 hours later I was contracting. It was a very slow labor but it definatley worked x

Had my second earlier this week, baby hasn't gotten the notice to evacuate yet, so not fail for me.

I had one and lost my plug the next day but still had to be induced :/

It worked for me on my second within 48hrs I started getting pains

Thanks everyone ive been told im in early labour an my cervix is soft as I had to go to hospital as pains were every two mins lasting a min so hopefully soon I will go into proper labour   as had more pains today
