Standing and Boo-Boos

posted 30th Nov
DS is 6 Months, will be 7 months on the 3rd (gasp where did the time go) and if he can put his hands on it he either climbs it, or puts it in his mouth...His favorite is the coffee table, he can stand beside really well and there's soo many new 'toys' on it IE the tv remotes, his photo albums and usually a gerber puffs jar, so he loves the coffee table...I don't love that he keeps bonking his head every time he loses his balance or trys to look at the floor. He currently has a bruise on his forehead just past his right eye, one in between his eye brows and one right under his right eye on his cheek bone. Poor kid looks like I beat him. I try moving him from the table and distracting him with toys but he just looks up at me, turns over and crawls back to the table >_<

I'm having the same problem but with a 10 month old..
He constantly wants to touch the TV/DVD player.
So if I have to pull him away and say no more than 4 times I put him in his playpen to try and teach him not to go there or he'll get hurt..
I don't know what else to do either.

Lol get used to it! :p
Wait until he starts walking. And running. Boys always have bruises on their foreheads

My mom had a foam like bumper thing that stuck to the corners of the coffee table when we were all little... I plan on getting that for ours when DS gets to that age... our friends have one that is foam with a sicky backing to it that goes all the way around their coffee table... you could get something like that so that it'll help them not get as hurt..

My LO always had some bruise on his fore head from 6.5 months till past 12 months, lol. It's just something that's goign to happen while they're learning to crawl, stand, and walk.

oh he already broke the port cover to my BF's mom's wii that we borrowed   BF said he can fix it but I still feel bad even though it hadn't damaged the game in any way... and DS cries if I put him in his PNP and he's not sleepy because he sleeps in it and thinks I'm trying to get him to sleep when he's not ready. I've tried the very stern, loud NO NO NO and that goes one of two ways..he either ignores me completely or he looks at me and starts crying, and then I have to cuddle him because I don't want to make him cry!

hummm...if it weren't sticky that would work but the coffee table was BF's great grandma's so it's really old and I don't want to risk hurting the table, I'll have to look for something like that that doesn't have adhesive on it so he can stop knocking his noggin... I know it's going to happen and I can't put him in a bubble but, well frankly we have a family reunion coming up on the 8th and my family is so critical I know I'm going to get grief for it AND I don't want his first Christmas/Santa pictures to have him covered in bruises

I have a ton of really cute pictures of my son with bruises, cuts, rashes all on his face. It always seems like it happens worst right before you do pictures lol. It's part of the memories though, those are things you may not remember if you didn't have the pics to look back on!
Just sayin, don't expect to have perfect pics because you just can't help what happens at that age.

:/ I know...it's just frustrating...I'm a STAHM right now I feel like I should be able to clean house and keep my 1 kid from hurting himself but if I take my eyes off him for a second the next thing I know he's hitting his head and crying

I took the coffee table out of the house when my son was about 10 months. So I'm no help in suggestions, other than removal.

I would but it's not my house, we just moved in with my boyfriend and I'm pretty sure he would have a cow if I moved his coffee table out of the house lol
