Waiting for blood tests to confirm pregnancy but doctor thin

Not sure how on earth I am going to find a midwife at this late stage. For my first child I was 7 weeks when I needed to find a midwife and that was a struggle!
I am freaking out a little! Half way through already!

Oh my goodluck! I didn't get seen by an ob until i was 25 weeks with my son.

I'm confused bythis post. You know you're pregnant, half way through, but are waitin for a blood test confirmation to find a midwife. Why did you wait so long?

I was wondering this myself. But then again maybe she found out late? Didn't have any symptoms and just realised.. Oh crap I may be pregnant.. Poas and bam got a positive. It happens. Not sure in this case though.

I found out at 13 weeks with my son   the damn u/s tech for confirmation called me neglectful  

I still don't know 100% as the urine tests have all been negative. I went to see the doctor as I think I can feel movement! When the doctor felt my stomach today she said that my fundal height is 20cm which normally means about 20 weeks. If it was not for the movement, I would not think I was pregnant.

omg i would be going crazy waiting...

I very rarely get a period so it didn't cross my mind. We don't use any birth control as it took 3 years of trying and then assisted reproductive therapy to conceive our first son.

Why didn't doc just do an ultrasound?

That'd confirm faster than a blood test AND give you an estimated due date all at once...

I am going a little crazy, but then again, I thought I was going crazy feeling movement in my tummy too. My husband keeps jokingly saying that there is no way I am pregnant. And if I am he want a refund as he will only have half the time to prepare himself!

To get an ultrasound I would have to go to the hospital in the city, I live in the countryside. I think if the bloods come back positive they will get me in there quick smart!

I would think he'd want an ultrasound either way to know why your uterus was. So enlarged if you're not pregnant---so it would still make sense to skip a test and go straight to ultrasound. But I guess a couple days isn't a big deal for a no-high-risk patient

I was so sure that the doctor was going to tell me not to be so silly and that there was no way I was pregnant. Now I am just a bundle of nerves waiting. The doctor did say that there was protein in my urine. Can anyone tell me what that means?

well if you're pregnant that's a sign of pre-eclampsia. which isn't good.
