lol i love chihuahuas everyone said they are evil little dogs but they are actually the biggest sweethearts when they know you. mine gives hugs she will lay her head down on your chest its so adorable. and she LOVES her "daddy" if i say daddys home she starts whining and is all over him when he walks through the door.
my mom got a chihuahua when i was 11 i believe maybe younger. and she was more attached to my mom than anyone else but she was still sweet. i always said i wanted a dog of my own so when we got our chihuahua i was happy. the funny thing is my chihuahua looks exactly like my moms. its hilarious. if people come over to my moms when im there with my dog they have to ask which one is which. my moms chihuahua is a little bigger and is getting old so her face has alot more white in it. i have to tell people that chloe is the one with the heart on her collar lol
my dog is the one on the right the left is my moms dog

Is it horrible that I can NOT stand my other dog?
Back story..... DH and I are friends with our "landlords". Their father lived in our house his whole life by himself and had a dog, Pearl. Their father passed away and we moved in...but the only "condition" was we had to keep Pearl and take care of her. Soooo, being the animal lovers that we are, we said ok!
Shortly after we moved in she became a b***h.! I mean, royal!
She became like this before we got our Shepherd....so it wasn't bringing a new dog in that did it.
Anyway, she's getting soooo horrible. She's snapping at Reese (my shepherd), she growls at me and the kids, and she keeps jumping the fence. Not really sure how, because she's a good bit shorter than the fence, and there's barbed wire on the top in the spot where she jumps over.   She's 4 years old, and she knows better than that. She used to be such a good dog...but I can't keep her around if she's going to keep growling/snapping at me and the kids. I'm afraid she's going to get shot too....because every time she gets out, she goes over the to the neighbors house, and he's threatened to shoot her before. So help me, if that man shoots her, or shoots near our house..... he better run....I will NOT tolerate that crap. (He's done it before...that's the only reason I say that. lol)

Our friends said they were going to take her to the pound. I don't want them to do that... I mean, I may not be able to stand her right now....but I don't want her to be taken to the pound to have only God knows what done to her....ya know?
I wish I could just find a good family that I know to take her.   Grrrrrr, why can't she just straighten up?!

Sorry, long vent...and now I'm babbling.

good idea....
The only problem is we really can't afford that right now. The only ones I found (I just looked), are $75-$150 a session. I don't know if that's a good price or not, but I know we can't pay that right now. I wonder if we could put it off and just try to work with her ourselves until DH starts his new job in a month or so when we can afford it...?

per session? I paid $110 for 6 weeks for training at a facility, maybe try a soft muzzle and reinforcement until you can figure something out?

Yes, per session.
We'll try that....she hasn't been very bad the last few days, maybe she was PMSing or something. lol

omg they really do look alike! they are to freakin cute!
but yes agree, alot of people when i tell them i have chihuahuas are like OMG they are so mean , why would you have a chihuahua?!?! Mine are soo sweet. My long hair chihuahua is like a little baby, she MUST be held and carried all the time, she loves sleeping under the blankets in my bed. and whenever i watch tv or im sitting on the recliner, she jumps right up and lays in my arms like a baby on her back with all her little feet up in the air. My other chi is sweet as can be, but is more independent.. she does her own thing. sleeps on her own. but loves attention and loves to play.

Aww i completely understand though , you cant have her growing at you and the kids and showing aggression, but i know what ya mean about taking her to the pound... Hopefully she will calm down a bit, or you can find someone to take her.. have you asked around?

All of your ladies' dogs are adorable btw!

I thought I saw Pete tonight sitting at the patio door like he used to. I had to do a double take, then realize that it was just my imagination. :-/
I have never been so upset about a dog passing. But then again this was the first time I had ever actually seen him after he was gone. And the first time I buried a dog myself. DH didn't even realize I had done it. I assumed he knew because he didn't come right in after getting home from work that night and he never said anything about him. But he saw Pete's collar laying on the counter yesterday and asked if I went back there and took it off. Then he asked if he was still back there. I said, "Uh, you really think I'm gonna let him just lay behind our shed for the coyotes and buzzards to snack on? No way."

It just sucks. He was just a few weeks shy of turning a year old. We got his birthday card in the mail the other day from the local pet store. It's still sitting on the counter next to his collar. :-/

It's been a rough week and I've been holding everything in, so sorry for the babbling post.
