Thanks.
We were given really bad advice from the adoption agency we got him from so we got him off to a really bad start. They told us he wasn't allowed up or down stairs or go for walks until he was over a year old. But this was from the same people who told us he didn't know how to walk because the first 3 months of his life he had been carried everywhere.
My husband and I knew he was big but when the vet first told us he was way too big for what he should be we started exercising him every day. It was great until I was told I could no longer go on long walks. So I then started taking him to the dog park every day so he could run around etc.
He went from a dog who couldn't jump to save his life to a dog you now have to pull off you for jumping all the time lol. No matter how many times we tell him not to jump he doesn't listen. I think he just loves being able to and nothing will stop him.

Animals must be restrained at all times. (My vet told me that dogs that are large must be harnessed) And also you can not have a dog on your lap.

Thanks! I did not know that. Lucky I already have him harnessed (my little dog) for trips to the vet. He hates car rides and jumps around.

I have a question for outside dogs.

When it is raining do your dogs just stand there by the back door getting wet? Or do they usually go and find shelter where they can? I'm asking this because the husky and lab we are dog sitting for a friend have just been sitting out in the rain and not seeking shelter. I hope they don't get sick. Will they get sick?

They won't get sick. My mum used to have a dog who slept in the rain all the time and she was fine.
I have found that even though Doyle and Lilah have shelter Doyle prefers to go out in the rain whilst Lilah prefers to stay dry. He is always wet lol but it worries me more then it does him.
My dogs are always at the back door but it has shelter.

Yeah I remembered it from the news way back when it was introduced, many people don't know.
