Standing in one spot & feeling of passing out.

posted 1st Jun
So I'm kinda wondering who else experiences this kinda thing. They say it's normal during pregnancy but it really is a pain! Any time I stand in line or in one spot for a long period of time, I start to become very light headed, shakey and start to break out in a sweat. This happened today while checking out at Wal-Mart and the guy was taking forever! I finally just handed him a check and told him I needed to go sit down and I'd let my sister finish it up. I felt as if I was about to fall to the floor! It also happens when I'm standing in the bathroom putting on make-up, but I go sit down before it ever gets that bad. Today was just crazy!

I wear sweat shorts or stretchie pants a lot so that's definitely not an issue! lol

They say low iron, blood pressure & sugar levels could play a role, but all mine have checked up fine at each visit.

A lot of things could cause it, usually iron or sugar levels. When my sugar levels in my body drop I feel like that, plus I get really clamy.
You should get a diabetic blood tester and when it happens, check your blood sugar levels.
Even if you get them checked at the doctors, they could always be at a good level when you go.
Just carry it around with you and when it happens, check yourself.
You can buy them pretty much anywhere, and you could also ask your doctor about it.

I have that happen alot while I'm pregnant because I have occasional low blood pressure. It's happened to me since I was a teenager though. It has always hit me while I'm standing still or laying down. I've learned that if I feel it coming on to keep moving (switching my weight from one foot to the other or walking in place normally works while in line.) Another thing my Dr told me to do in the past is to drink a caffinated drink when it happens. The caffine helps raise your blood pressure and your blood sugar. I found that really helps.

In case it ever happens again, carry orange juice and peanut butter crackers with you wherever you go.
I have to do that even if I'm not pregnant because of the hypoglycemia. blah.

That happens to me before. Usually when I am in the grocery store, so my husband never lets me go alone anymore. It happened to me at the cardiologist once too. The girl was taking FOREVER with getting my paperwork and stuff together and I felt like I was going to pass out. I'm like come on! My doctor says it could be that I am dehydrated even thoughI felt like I was drinking enough water. But of course you can never be too sure, and be dehydrated without even knowing.

Just because they are good at one moment in time during a recent doctor visit doesn't mean they can't plummet at some point during the day.

Also, dehydration can play a role too
