WTF is a lentil?

What does it look like, where can I find it and how do I cook it?

It's a bean I think in the pasta rice aisle a I think you cook them like rice.

It's a little bean. I cook them all the time. I love the red ones and the green ones are okay too. You have to wash them and separate the bad ones out of the lot. The bad ones will be another color. Wash them three times. Then the way I cook them is by boiling them until they are soft, then sauteeing finely chopped onion until they are brown, then add the boiled lentils and a bit of water and 1/2 a boullion cube.. when it starts boiling add salt and vermicelli (about a handful). Then once the vermicelli is done, you have Shorbat al-3addes. You can buy the green ones at most supermarkets usually with Hispanic food. I get the red ones at import stores.
