Mamas who were Induced

posted 29th Nov
I've got a few questions for ya:
-How long did labor last, from the time you got the drugs till LO came?
-Did you give birth vaginally, or end up with a c-section?
-If you did have to have a c-section, was your SO/DH allowed in with you?

Any other advice/info you'd like to share would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!

1. Went in at 8 PM at 2 CM 40% effaced, they put cervidil in. Left it in until 5 AM the next morning. I was starting to contract on my own, but not regularly. They started pitocin at 7 AM, broke my water at 8 AM, got my epidural at 9 AM. I had her at 3:09 PM, that same day.

2. Vaginally, pushed for 10 mins.

I didn't have any complications or anything, my labor went really well.

Exactly 24 hours, it ended in a C-Section, and yes SO was in the room for it. I went in the hospital at 2 pm, got cervadil at 8 pm I think, pitocin at 4 am and by 12 pm they said I needed a C-Section because I had not progressed at all and I had her at 1:44 pm.

If they give you cervadil/cytotec, does that typically make your labor last longer?

I've heard HORRIBLE things about cytotec. The cervidil is suppose to help your cervix thin out quicker.

I know so have i. Its used the same as cervadil, and sadly what my hospital uses. I plan to refuse having it used on me though.

If that's ALL they offer, I wouldn't accept that at all. I've heard soooo many bad things, I'd be too nervous. I'd take cervadil or none lol
