Infants in swings

posted 29th Nov
How long is it okay for them to be in there? When working in a daycare my boss told me it isn't good for their back. I normally don't have her in there long at all. But she has been fussing for the past 3 hours so I got out of bed and put her in there and I am laying on the floor with blankets and pillows. She won't sleep shes wide awake. At least she finally stopped crying/fussing and is being quiet in the swing. I think were both going to be up for a while   I am wondering if I should take her out so if I fall asleep she isn't in there for hours.

I never had any problems with my girls being in the swings, My first Daughter hated the crib for the first 2 months and only slept in the swing or in my arms.

So its okay if she sleeps in there? she wakes up every 3 hours to eat so after that I would take her out. Usually if she falls asleep I take her out. But tonight she is being a little weird and not her self and fussing a lot and does not want to sleep.

She will be fine =) my son is 9 months old now and he slept in his swing through the night newborn to 3 months old. Not every night but alot. He loved it! once he started sitting up by himself and becoming mobile that's when I stopped putting him in it. It It made me nervous haha

Lol, unless a baby needs a diaper change, I usually don't move them from any given spot when they seem totally content where they are.
That could be horrible parenting but hey.

I asked the same question...my son only wants to sleep in his carseat or in his bouncy chair...he hates sleeping in the crib or being laid flat at all...I feel terrible for having him sleep 75% of the time in the bouncy chair but what other choice do I have...he screams when I lay him flat

Nurse at the hospital when we were discharged said that you don't change them or wake them up at all...even if you can smell the poop really bad just leave them...the baby will wake themselves up if they want to be changed...

My daughter sleeps better in the pack and play then the bassinet. And when she gets all fussy and weird the swing calms her. She hasn't even laud in her crib yet so hopefully when she does she likes it.

I've never heard that! Interesting. I've always been very worried about diaper rash.
