flat spot

So DS has a flat spot on his head. His pedi said that as he starts being able to sit up more and all that jazz it should fix itself. He does a lot of tummy time, he naps on his tummy (when I'm in the same room) and we try to have him sit up as much as possible. I was just wondering any mommas has experience with this, and if you have any tips on other things to help it along.

my son has a slightly flat spot on the back of his head, mostly because hes always HATED tummy time. after a few minutes he just starts crying and crying because he doesnt want to be on his tummy lol.

now that hes a bit older and has learned to roll he likes to sleep on his side, and he much prefers sitting up to laying down so i have him sitting up a lot of the time which gives the back of his head a little break lol.

i was told there isnt much else you can do, just try to keep them off that spot as much as possible and it should fix itself out.

Yeah, DS hates tummy time with a fiery passion. He'll last about 5 minutes and lose it, so we just do it in 5 minute periods throughout the day. It's the side that he favors when he sleeps, and I try to move his head and he just moves it right back. Oh well, guess I'll just keep with the tummy time.

yeah try to do it as much as possible lol my son hates laying on his tummy, but if i lay him on his tummy on my chest so hes laying on me hes fine. i know its not the same as tummy time exactly but it will still give his head a break for awhile if he'll last like that for a bit.

Yeah, he does better if he's on my chest or his Boppy. His doctor said as long as he's on his tummy it counts lol maybe cause he's witnessed the 'get me off my tummy NOW' cry...

My twins have flat spots (and bald spots) on the back of their heads too. I am sure it has something to do with them being premies and spending the first month or so almost always on their back sleeping. Anyways, mine have been pretty good about tummy time since 5 weeks but it still hasn't improved at all. I just hope it will get better once they are sitting independently, or when they decide to sleep in a different position than on their back!

Yeah his pedi said that flat spots have become more common since the whole back is best thing. He also said that it'll take some time but it should fix itself.
